Anyone see this last night? It made for depressing TV. It showed the side of society that we'd all prefer not to see. Asian lads grooming girls as young as 12 for sex in west yorkshire. Its been going on for years as well and they're only just clamping down on it. Is it because the authorities are too scared of being called racist?

How depressing, the whole racist thing raising it's head in yet another thread.

The program was about men grooming young girls, the editing made it appear that it was more prevelant among asian men. Not for sensationalism of course.

How can it have been the editing? The statistics and facts speak for themselves. It was predominantly asian men. I'm not a racist and neither were the young girls mothers. Its not a question of race. If it will cause problems by telling the truth about what is going on then so be it. One of the girls' mothers said that she would rather people know what is going on and save the lives of other young girls than live in a quiet and problem free town.
How would you feel max if it was one of your daughters who was been raped? Would it be so easy to remain politically correct?

Nez , you'll be branded if you suggest anything other than white people commit any sort of crime.

I think you’re missing the point there. Why is at all necessary to say 'Asian lads'?

Why does that make a difference? Nobody says 'Ian Huntley, a white man from Grimsby'.

Does that make sense?

why shoul'd it not be said if it's true.

Oh Roy, and I thought we were doing so well. :(

Can somebody else please explain this incredibly simple matter? My forehead is going flat from all the banging.:shakes:

How about:

crime = bad

skin colour = irrelevant

simple enough?

Max, are you suggesting that the report was factually incorrect? I'm sure the people doing the programme or their bosses will have researched the subject prior to allowing it to be broadcast.

Just because it doesn't fit into your 'perception' doesn't necessarily mean its incorrect does it?

Its no wonder these sorts of things 'by people of all races, creeds and religion' get away with it.
