Could anyone please tell me where I could purchase a book called(More Images of Sheffield) I am reading a paper called Sheffield (The Old Days) Very interesting too, and it talks of the mentioned book. I have checked the sites trying to find an email addy for The Star but have not been very successful as yet.
I left the UK in 1963 to live here in Australia but like to keep up with the history of Sheffield. I have a great book sent to me on Attercliffe that is good too. Any help would be appreciated many thanks. Vera.

a friend of mine emigrated to australia about that time. her name was margarett lewis, she had two brothers. i know one of them was called john. they lived on vale road at parkwood springs. ide love to know how she is these days. any clues?

Hi Kirky, Just got your message, have not got the hang of where to find my replies yet. Well the name is on the wall which used to be the seniors toilets. so it will be in that little car park which is there now. that used to be our garden wall. not inside the school yard of course.

Hope you find it just as a point of interest. hope your boy likes this school. I used to be in the line to go to Woodthorpe baths for a swim. never got there was always sent back for talking. lol

Hi there Katrina. Sorry I can't help you out here. I live in NSW the name doesnt ring any bells. Have made a note of names you never know who you may come across wish you all the best in you search but don't give up/

woodthorpe baths has just been knocked down.......did mr lyons take your swimming lessons? i was petrified of him.

Kirky don't know who took swimming never got that far.Mr. Cliff was my teacher rotter he used to make me stand on the class seat a lot and I remember my dad could see me from the our garden and he used to come up to school over the wall and play hell He was told they couldn't stop me talking. (nothings changed) lol
