Im on orange and working fantasticly as usual bev2 14-11-2006, 19:43 my son is on blueyonder and he cant get on . i am on orange i have had problems all night. its been on and off sprocky 14-11-2006, 19:45 Because im on someone elses computer trying to find out whats wrong with mine:( beansforyou 14-11-2006, 20:33 i'm on orange had no problems - sorry. KJ_VENOM 14-11-2006, 20:47 no problems with orange apart from the size of the router huge white monolith on top of the telly:hihi: metalman 15-11-2006, 08:48 I'm with Orange and they sent me an e-mail at the end of October saying they were going to upgrade me to 8Mb broadband on the 10th November. Consequently I couldn't get onto the web at all on Friday night and all day Saturday. After ringing their helpline and moaning about it I could get on OK on Sunday and Monday, though without any noticeable increase in speed. Yesterday evening it was OK early on, and then completely rubbish later - couldn't get to anything. I'm assuming they're going to sort themselves out eventually. Check your e-mail and see whether they're 'upgrading' you too. sallonoroff 15-11-2006, 11:26 orange-sufferers might like to see... orangeproblems.co.uk (http://www.orangeproblems.co.uk/phpBB2) . martss 15-11-2006, 23:22 Im on Orange and have got back online at home for the first time in 3 weeks tonight! The tech help is useless, same questions over and over again, "we will do a line test, call us back in 24 hours". Called them back only to be told there is a problem with my line.... I already know that! So, after doing everything they tell me, including leaving the laptop turned on and plugged into telephone line 24hrs a day for a full week, I'm told it's a modem problem, even tho I've tried 3 different modems and none of them work at home, but all work on other lines. So yesterday, the 14th Nov, they say they are sending me a new modem, today I try and it works! S was it the modem or the line? Does Orange know or care? After this performance I'm seriously considering AOL! baza1 16-11-2006, 22:05 I'm on orange broadband, had no problems up to now, since they upgraded me to 2mb keep getting disconnected every 10 - 15 mins. Has anyone else had similar experiences? Been like this for 3 days, surely I am not the only one the_mandarin 17-11-2006, 06:36 I have been facing problems since the last 5 days. When I called them up, each time I get a different reply ranging from "It should be fine by evening" to "It should be fine by Saturday" to the ever-evasive "You have reached the wrong department, please call Customer Support -> Technical Support -> Livebox Support" bev2 17-11-2006, 16:55 i just changed over to broadband with orange last night from an anytime dial up and it keeps disconnecting i have only been on line 10 minutes and i have already been disconnected :( baza1 18-11-2006, 08:25 Has anyone else had to have a line check for a fault on your internet line?According to orange technical support it take 48hrs which to me seems a bit too long. Are they just trying to fob me off? alchresearch 18-11-2006, 10:58 It was terrible last night. I was trying to download Windows updates and AVG at a friend's house and the transfer speed was 2Kb per second. martss 18-11-2006, 11:04 baza1- I've had about seven line tests over the last three weeks and was told to call back in 24 or 48 hours. Each time I called back I got the same answer "There's a fault on your line sir". bev2 18-11-2006, 11:11 mine is stil disconnecting its driving me mad i have only just come on to broadband and i'm regretting it now i cant stay on for longer than 10 minutes  bev2 18-11-2006, 11:52 i am going on at trip to india to rip the womans head off on orange technical support line , she asked me to spell my full name out phonectically (hope the spelling is right ) !!!!!!!! i told her she must be joking it would cost me £30 to tell her my name i told her in no uncertain terms to forget it . i have been on for about an hour and only been connected for about 20 minutes i cant keep on it is doing my head in now so i'm seriously thinking of packing it in and going back to slow old narrow band  Savannah2 18-11-2006, 12:40 I'm on orange broadband, had no problems up to now, since they upgraded me to 2mb keep getting disconnected every 10 - 15 mins. Has anyone else had similar experiences? Been like this for 3 days, surely I am not the only one It sounds like your line isn't capable of 2MB, was you on 1MB before, and if so, did you have any disconnections? Some info here (http://www.kitz.co.uk/adsl/lowSNR.htm) the_mandarin 18-11-2006, 16:13 i am going on at trip to india to rip the womans head off on orange technical support line , she asked me to spell my full name out phonectically (hope the spelling is right ) !!!!!!!! i told her she must be joking it would cost me £30 to tell her my name i told her in no uncertain terms to forget it . i have been on for about an hour and only been connected for about 20 minutes i cant keep on it is doing my head in now so i'm seriously thinking of packing it in and going back to slow old narrow band  This seems to be a clever ploy on the part of Orange. All their helplines are 0870 or 090 numbers (never a 0800... number) They ask you to confirm all your details, ask the same questions, put you on hold, pass the buck between departments, ask you to repeatedly do the same set of things even after you tell them it did not work a minute ago - and then cite some stupid thing as the reason it is not working! All this while, I am sure that they are well aware that the caller is running up his phone bill. And they will not call you back for any of those "please try after 5 minutes" solutions - stating that they only have incoming lines. How very convenient! bev2 18-11-2006, 16:54 i was very angry when i called the help line , she took all my details then asked me to spell them all out phonetically all 6.000 letters of my name, address, user name the lot ! what a joke . i know i have read about the good service they give and i have only been with them since thursday night but this girl could not speak or understand english , it would have took me half an hour to spell my name to her. i will give it a few days to see if the problem rectifies its self if not i'll take some of my blood pressure tablets and give the help line another go and just see if a can speak to someone who can understand me  martss 18-11-2006, 17:54 Out of the 10 or so calls I made during my downtime, only one got routed to a UK call centre. One woman told me to try my modem in all four USB ports, unplug, wait thirty seconds, plug in, wait thirty seconds, for each port. That would take four minutes.......... she asked me if I'd finished after just over a minute!? :loopy: bev2 20-11-2006, 18:27 after all my ranting and raving about orange i have just had a call from customer service she wanted to welcome me to orange broadband ... what a laugh poor lass i bet she wished she had not rung me . she was very nice and she recomended a few things for me to try and she is going to ring me back to see if it has worked  the_mandarin 20-11-2006, 18:38 after all my ranting and raving about orange i have just had a call from customer service she wanted to welcome me to orange broadband ... what a laugh poor lass i bet she wished she had not rung me . she was very nice and she recomended a few things for me to try and she is going to ring me back to see if it has worked  All the best, but I was once told that Orange Costomer Service cannot call anyone since they have incoming-only phone lines! metalman 20-11-2006, 19:23 I've just had my third call from them today asking whether my broadband is now working satisfactorily. Which it is on the whole, apart from the occasional disconnection over the last two days. baza1 21-11-2006, 22:12 gave orange more than 48hrs notice, which they said they needed to check line. we are still getting disconnected, phoned again tonight only to be told phone back in 24hrs. all I want is an internet connection, after all it is the 21st century. please can anybody recommend a good isp? wish I could get cable. |
