Hi-

I have recently bought a flat on the Parklands development in the Manor district of Sheffield, but my part of the development hasn't finished being built yet!.

I noticed that there was an earlier discussion about the dangers of buying a Parklands property in Manor. However, everytime that I've been down to visit the building site the area has always seemed fairly quiet and the people that I've talked to are decent and friendly.

Now that part of the development is complete, I was wondering if any of you have bought/ are renting a flat on the development and how are you finding the area? In addition, I'd also like to know if you are having any problems with the standard of quality (finishings, stucture etc) of the flats.

Hi Angel 05- thanks for replying to my message. Are you still waiting for your apartment to be completed? When did Bellway's tell you it would be finished? Mine is to be completed in Jan-Feb 05.

hello mate!!,

i moved in an apartment in the development a few months ago with my g/f and it's a gorgeous place, really quiet and not seen any trouble at all!!, the place is being taken over by investors which show it's a good potential financial investment, just had a few problems with the hot water and the oven, aart from that it's a wicked place to live :)

Yeah still waiting i hope to be in by the 3rd week of sept now... i was told by the end of july it would be ready to move into... unfortunately tho the weather has held a few things up...

I think it will be worth the wait... I am so looking forward to getting my own space back...

I've noticed Bellway are doing an offer in this week's Telegraph - pay 75% of the value of the house now and 25% of the value of the house when you sell.

Does this indicate they're having difficulty selling the houses?

Anyone else who lives there care to comment on what the development and area are like?

where's parklands? i live on the manor i can't think where it is

I don't think that Bellway's offer in the Telegraph suggests that Bellways are struggling to sell the houses at Parklands. In May, when I originally paid my deposit for the house, there were similar incentives attached. In addittion, I was at the Bellway sales office on Sat afternoon and it was full of people enquiring about the properties for sale.

I think that it's usual for new build developments to offer incentives (such as paying a percentage of the deposit, offering part-exchange offers on the buyer's existing property, or 'try before you buy' type deals etc).

... Or maybe it's just wishful thinking on my part, seeing as I've already been roped into buying a Parklands apartment (!)

Its a shame my house fell through i was looking forward to living there... who knows within the next phase there maybe a house there for me lol

How's the area- is it safe? How about the finishings, quality of workmanship etc on the properties- is it up to scratch?
