Bank card readers in shops - I've yet to put my card in the right way round.
Even on the ones with the handy diagram that says 'magnetic strip facing up' (or is it down) :suspect: :D
It'd help of course if they made them to a standard design - they all seem to be different.
Or is it just me?

The only difference I've noticed is whether you put it in the bottom or the top if the reader

I have this problem too.
I now just pass it to the shop assistant and smile. They look confused. I just look confused back. They insert card. Solved.

You always get it the right way up and the right way round then? :surprised

As a shop assistant when we first got the chip readers we were told that we must not touch the customers card and that they had to insert it themselves, but still after all these months customers pass them over to us, at first i told them to insert it themselves now i just do it for them because it makes my life easier, lol
The chip always goes inside the machine... I've yet to put it in the wrong way round

Erm, you always have the top facing the left for the bottom and right for the top. Well so far so good!

Well I just used one at the post office (at least they're all the same design in PO's) but the dratted thing had a swipe slot as well as a slot to insert the card.
I almost put the card in the swiper (chip side first of course) ;)

You know on cookers they have four little circles to denote which ring you are lighting?
Well, I have to stare at them to understand them.
Then I try to light the wrong one.

erm, I always use the same ring on the cooker, so I know which button it is :D
But if I try to do a different one, I have to look at the pic, then at the cooker, then at the pic, and then back at the cooker just to check....then I light the wrong one anyway :D
