Are you smiling right now ? alchresearch 26-08-2004, 11:30 I'll tell you what I hate. When people tell you it takes more muscles to frown than smile. What a load of rubbish. Gravity is naturally pushing you down. You have to lift your muscles against gravity to force a smile. :) Jamie 26-08-2004, 11:32 Head stands mate !!! Or failing that ... gravity boots ... they go round your ankles and they have hooks on them ... and you hang from a bar like a bat. lol. Sturrer 26-08-2004, 11:45 I'm smiling while I say this... Get a life ...actually i am LMAO boyface 26-08-2004, 11:48 I hate it if people say "smile...it may never happen"..Im like, er, this is how I look mate its nearly as annoying as people who wear novelty socks and describe themselves as "a bit whacky, abit mad, a little bit of the wall" uurrggghhh *shudder* Angel05 26-08-2004, 12:18 I too hate it when people say 'smile' just because i havent got a smile on my face... doesnt mean i'm not smiling inside and a smile does come from within... What gets me is that if i walked round with a permanant smile on my face i guarantee i would be asked 'what you smiling at?' No wins in the smiling game! Smiling can light up a persons face... it can tell so much about that person... its nice to see people smiling or that smile being turned into laughter! SaxonLeigh 26-08-2004, 12:22 i get this from my dad if i look down "smile tho your heart is breaking, smile even tho its aching.........." agh! LoopyLou 26-08-2004, 12:36 when you're smiling when you're smiling the whole world smiles with you !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) Jamie 26-08-2004, 13:16 yeah ... of course you shouldn't smile for the sake of if u feel crap and ****** off just frown or look ****** off or whatever. Angel05 26-08-2004, 13:25 Such a polite way with words jamie! Jamie 26-08-2004, 13:29 Originally posted by Angel05 Such a polite way with words jamie! I know ... I'm not the most articulate person in the world Angel. I didn't know the word I said was classed as swearing (by the SF rude language filter) ... didn't seem that bad to be honest. I was just saying pretty much what was said before ... if you're not happy ... don't pretend you are ... it's ok to look unhappy ... just be true to yourself. slh73 26-08-2004, 13:29 Im not. Im coughing. Chest infections do that to you. Lickable 26-08-2004, 13:30 I am not smiling right now, and will probably next smile when i finish designing this brochure next week. what makes me smile? Finishing projects, i.e. Brochures... Angel05 26-08-2004, 13:33 slh73... lets hope your smiling again soon Get well soon! Angel05 26-08-2004, 13:35 Saying that tho Jamie i guess its the way someone reads it... so maybe i am at fault... LMAO hey ho never mind... Keep smiling lol Jamie 26-08-2004, 13:37 Keep smiling ... I intend Angel !! Sometimes it seems like it's all I have left in the world ... a smile ... and those are the times when the world seems to be the most beautiful. That should get a few of u running for the sick bucket ... HA !! Angel05 26-08-2004, 13:45 yeah i would defo say that... thank god i had mine to hand lol Miss_smiley 26-08-2004, 14:09 I was smiling all today as I am on leave all next week but then the phone rang. The person buying my house has just decided they cant afford it. Took them 2 weeks into the 'collation of information' to realise it. A luvli soft warm shoulder to cry on would be greatly received at this moment in time :( Jamie 26-08-2004, 14:12 Originally posted by Miss_smiley I was smiling all today as I am on leave all next week but then the phone rang. A luvli soft warm shoulder to cry on would be greatly received at this moment in time :( Awww you poor thing ... have one of my smiles ... *smiles*. You're lucky you have a house to be selling ... I don't even have that ... *cries*. Miss_smiley 26-08-2004, 14:18 thanks for the smile Jamie. Yes, I am luck I have a house to sell but I dont really wana sell it cos I love living here but because I am normally so happy, smiley and friendly, one of my neighbours has taken a dislike to me getting on with their other half and all the other neighbours and is forcing me to move. They will not grind me down though. I have decided to keep smiling and releasing those endorphins because as we all know, worse things happen at sea. :) :) :) :) :) :) :) Jamie 26-08-2004, 14:23 Someone once told me how the saying 'worse things happen at sea' came about ... gruesome stuff !! But yeah ... it's funny how people can focus on the negative cr*p stuff and so easily forget all the good things they have in life. Like you're alive !!! ... and have your health and sanity and friends ... and a place to sleep at night and food ... count yourself jolly lucky you have those things ... not everyone does. *runs for the sick bucket* ... MarkEMark 26-08-2004, 14:47 I just smiled a minute ago, but I've just temorarily stopped to give my face a rest. That's better. Smiling again now... Classic Rock 26-08-2004, 15:42 My face is totally relaxed. In a position of content. No major muscles being used. I'd look silly grinning at the monitor with nobody else in the room! Mosherchik 26-08-2004, 19:46 Im from the Jack Dee school of smiling ie I dont because it makes me look like some scary gurn-monster. I settle for just looking bemused, which is pretty much a permanent state for me   I also cannot abide the "cheer up it'll never happen..." and the "You look like you've lost a sixpence and found an ha'penny" grrrr Do have quite a few reasons for grinning like an idiot, but they're mainly vomit inducing so I'll keep em to mesen  :heyhey: Chris_Sleeps 26-08-2004, 19:56 I've had 4 hours at work and now another hour or so of writing the "never ending essay". I'd smile if i had the energy. Chris. JoeP 27-08-2004, 09:14 I smiled when I saw the 'Are you smiling' topic title! It then broke in to a broad grin..... Actually, I like to try and smile but my face naturally assumes a sort of seriously grim expression....:( A short time after my mother died I remember some prat telling me that 'It might never happen'. I pointed out that it had, and explained the situation. It was great to see the idiot squirm with embrassment, and did bring an evil internal grin on.....;) Sometiems, though, just smiling at someone will life their spirits and it's well worth it. It also makes other people wonder what the devil you're happy about!! Joe Miss_smiley 27-08-2004, 09:52 Whilst I was driving to work this morning, I passed a guy who was walking and thought "mmmmmm he is nice". So when he glanced at me I smiled. Hope he didnt think I was a crazy nutter, grinning at him when I didnt even know him. t-heeeee. :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) Andy78 27-08-2004, 17:49 Not back in work till wednesday, going out tonight, tomorrow and sunday. I am currently sitting on my couch with a cold beer. Yes I am smiling like a big smiley type thingy! I am a born optimist, I love life, I consider myself very fortunate, I beleive in counting one's blessings in life, alright, we all get a bit down at times but most of the time, I sing all the time, I am so happy, I don't need drugs, alcohol, gambling, lots of money, as long as I have enough to eat and a roof over my head, I am satisfied, we are all singers in our family, even the sewing machine is a singer.
