I've been Muse fan for a few years now, not a massive fan but always thought the were well worth the price of a CD.
However, after seeing them live last night in Manchester I can't help but think these guys are probably the best rock band in the country at the minute.

Anyone going to see them in Sheffield this week is in for a treat.
They sounded fantastic, played a mixture of old and new stuff, their stage set up was un-real...I was just so blown away by how good they were live.
Oh and Matt Bellamy threw his guitar into the crowd after the 2nd to last song, so be warned you guys at the front.

Nominated as the funniest post I've seen in years. This lot are merely a set of Radiohead wannabes, and Radiohead aren't that good.

But, whatever floats your boat ........ so glad you enjoyed it. Happiness always beats disappointment!

But if they've EVER been rock, I'll eat my house.

Now I'm not normally one for trying to slot bands into certain musical genres, or even to try and work out where one genre ends and another starts, but if I had to lump Muse into any then I'd say everyday rock kinda fits.
Wouldn't go as far as to say they were hard rock or even 'hardish'rock but unless you've got a more defined 'title' I should have used then Rock'll have to do.

As for Radiohead wannbee's, don't know if I'd go that far, can see some similarities but I'm not a big enough fan to get into an arguement trying to justify why I like them, obviously there are people like that out there otherwise Muse wouldn't be filling arena's up and down the contry this week would they ;), mind you I suppose Will Young can do that.....

Now I certainly wouldn't liken Muse to Will bloody Young :hihi: To be honest, my view of Muse is that they wrote one astonishingly good song, but then chose to repeat it ad infinitum.

I suppose if I 'had' to pigeon hole the band, they'd be 'Virgin style', which (to me) is pretty damning ........ :(

Ouch! What a cutting review! Was it a heavy weekend HH? Although the thought of watching someone ingest their own house has tickled me! Now just to find a way to prove that they are rock...........:hihi:

Personally think Muse are great and was looking forward to seeing them on Saturday - but have had to give up my ticket as work has got in the way! Boo!

Just out of interest anybody a fan of Alterbridge. Now they are a class rock band (although please await HH anaylsis of whether we can pigeon hole them as rock! ;) )

Did a bit of 'you tubing', and found a reasonable cover of 'Crazy Train', 'In Loving Memory', 'Open Your Eyes', and 'Broken Wings'.

Have to say I've heard a lot worse. 'Broken Wings' was my favourite of the four I heard, but that may be down to the fact it had the best sound quality.

Got to say that I fear they're a bit 'one trick pony'-ish, but at least the trick's a reasonably accomplished one. Maybe that's abit harsh after hearing just 4 songs.

Oh, I don't know.

I know exactly what you mean - they've only had one album release so far, so it will be interesting to hear "the tricky second album" and see if it's more of the same. I've not managed to see them live yet but they are meant to be superb.

Muse - OK but over-rated.

Nowhere near as good as Puressence..............
