I will be switching supplier.
BG have already put 2 rises on fuel and a third is an insult.
I have both gas and electric from them and will be looking for a new supplier, then wait for them to put it up too.

I'm switching my gas and electric from British Gas to nPower.
Npower and Scottish Power seem to be the cheapest, and as I used to work for Scottish Power many years ago I think I'll go with nPower on principle.

 I left NPower to go to British gas because they ripped me off for a mere £42.
After numerous conversations saying If they don't pay it back i will leave, well the rest is history and i left.
British Gas are not in my good books and neither are NPower, so i will have to extend my search for another supplier.

I've been comparing prices recently cos I'm fed up with NPower and Scottish Power offer me the cheapest for my postcode and monthly DD payment. Scottish Power also let you submit your meter readings on-line and also vary DD payments that way too.

After looking at a few switch web sites I found the Guardian's to be about the best...

When are they gunna learn how to harness anul methane? Your pumps could be collected in jetpack style containers that would slowly fill over the day. When you return in the evening all you would have to do is pull out the tube and connect your Quack-pack to the trump-station you have already installed in your kitchen where it could be used for cooking and heating.
This will also improve the atmosphere around the office and also reduce global warming. This would stop plantations in Cuba being wipe-out by what will be known as Antacid Rain cause by curried oxydation occuring generally around sunday morning from the larger cities.
During the winter if you needed more gas you can elect to digest food that is going to 'get your wind up' in so doing creating more heating for your family. That's if you have a family that is. The smell might get in the way. We could also turn prisons into BumFarms.'
Sometimes it feels like it is only me that has a coherent vision of the future. Surely we have the technology now to put my plans into actions.

More information on this can be found in this thread (http://www.sheffieldforum.co.uk/showthread.php?s=&threadid=2402)

...and I switched to Powergen.

For those that don't know already, British Gas is planning to increase gas bills by 12.4% and electricity by 9.4% on 20th September.

They last put up their prices in January for both supplies by 5.4%.
