Be Broadband have been around a few months, and I have a friend down in manchester who uses them (hes on 7.7/1.2mb) and he says the service is excellent... and reliable..
they are only available in 2 or 3 areas of sheffield at the moment, however it may be worth a look...
UP TO 24mb down, and 1.3mb up for £24 / month ;) - cant go wrong really..

(one thing that gets me about DSL, they should charge £24 if you get the full speed, if you get a lower speed, they should charge you less.. what a ripoff imho)
Can't please some geeks... I'd be happy with 7.7/1.2 stable for £25 a month, dang...
Saying that, there's not a silly 10GB a month limit on that or owt is there? I can do that in Linux distros within a week...
nah, the £24 /month is the unlimited one..
iut looks like I can get be in my area; how can I tgell what my usage is sop that I cAN decide whether to go for the lite or unlimited useage packages?

....... how can I tgell what my usage is ........
Download something like NetMeter (http://readerror.gmxhome.de/) which will give you daily, weekly and monthly totals.
Check how far you are from your exchange, though. Maximum speeds drop of rapidly as you get further away.

I'm seriously considering a move to Be since they're now available on the Broomhill exchange. If you want to get a feel for the service, there's an unofficial forum here (http://www.beforum.co.uk/forum/default.aspx)

Has this once atrocious ISP improved? been a long time since I took a look at how they are performing.
I must agree the upload speed is attractive, download speed is irrelevant to myself.
