This may sound nieve of me but it sounds like your best bet is to find work in the building and construction field ? If so, why not go round some of the building sites where they are building all these new apartments and ask to speak to the foreman or managers to see if they know of any work they need doing with respect to the experience you have ?

There are building developments near the Metris tower near West bar, and also some student housing next to that too. Also building work in Endcliffe, and the bottom of London Road too. Also bottom of West Street and development near Greens Gym. I'm sure there's more in and around Sheffield.

Cant do any harm in asking or getting in touch with there HR departments ? Try to go prepared ie. give examples of work you've done in the past and show willing and enthusiasm in working the hours or work they have on offer. You may end up being given a fixed term contract or part time stuff, but at least it's a foot in the door and things may develop from there on (ie full time work ? contracts elsewhere ? networking with other colleagues who can advise you of other work ? opportunities to learn new skills ?). If not, then the work you could be given should help you in good stead when looking else where hopefully.

Not sure if this has been helpful but goodluck in your search and I hope you find some decent work and income soon.
