View Full Version : Louis Walsh at Meadowhall tonight kittencapes 10-11-2006, 09:23 Does anyone know the plans later for the lights being turned on? What time is Louis Walsh doing it, and where in meadowhall? will it be terribly busy? :gag: Devine22 10-11-2006, 09:28 Its 6pm, not sure where though. Probably be packed!! I might be going. Jillybabes 10-11-2006, 09:30 Isnt it usually in the oasis? I heard on hallam this morning that its expected to be very, very busy! Macca 10-11-2006, 09:30 Oh dear god. Why is he turning the lights on? bladesufc1 10-11-2006, 09:31 there's going to be an estimated 60,000 people there tonight, as per the BBC news this morning.. so dont go that way home tonight!! Jillybabes 10-11-2006, 09:33 Just looked at the meadowhall website it says from 6pm at the main dome, but there is festivities from around 3.30, damn it, i wanted to go there today too, i will have to go early to avoid the crowds. Devine22 10-11-2006, 09:33 ok, i'm not going. Was going to go because I needed to. sTaGeWaLkEr 10-11-2006, 09:35 He'll probably look at the lights once they're on and say something along the lines of 'You remind me very much of a young Vera Lynn' kittencapes 10-11-2006, 09:57 I wonder who he will bring along with him from the X Factor?? Will there be any free gifts i wonder... Macca 10-11-2006, 09:59 there's going to be an estimated 60,000 people there tonight, as per the BBC news this morning.. so dont go that way home tonight!! I'm sorry 60,000 people? I despair sometimes. Do you people have nothing better to do with your lives? sTaGeWaLkEr 10-11-2006, 10:24 I'm sorry 60,000 people? I despair sometimes. Do you people have nothing better to do with your lives? Eeek, you don't think I will actually be going do you? Frankly, I'd rather eat my own leg! :) DaisyBoo 10-11-2006, 10:28 oh god i really need to go tonight.great. feargal 10-11-2006, 10:34 Why is he turning the lights on? Probably so he can show the X-factor contestants exactly what they will be expected to clean, once their careers fail to take off. Macca 10-11-2006, 10:41 Eeek, you don't think I will actually be going do you? Frankly, I'd rather eat my own leg! :) Precislely. 60,000 people - largely from Sheffield I assume - quite ready to openly admit the expolotation they sign up to every Saturday night, without fail. I just find the whole idea of the X-factor abhorrent, and the fact that it makes celebrities out of sad, catty old men like Louis Wlash is even more disapointing. Wake up and smell the coffee people - their aim is take every hard earned penny (of yours) that they can get their greasy little mits on. And what do you get in return? 12 saturday nights where you can shout at the telly, a couple of sh*tty albums that will never be followed up, a crush on some teenage publicity whore and an empty wallet. This is the modern way? This is the modern way? I'm sorry, but weren't you texting me last Saturday night asking me about the result? Gottcha! :o "Just showing an interest" my @rse!!!! PS - Precisely. Not Precislely! ;-) Macca 10-11-2006, 10:59 I'm sorry, but weren't you texting me last Saturday night asking me about the result? Gottcha! :o "Just showing an interest" my @rse!!!! Only to ingratiate myself into your culture!! Or make an effort as I said the other night! Can't stand this show, sorry. It's trash, throw away TV - easy and cheap to make, high profit yield, and barely any commitment put into the 'artists' they uncover. Why any self respecting person who wants to get into the music business would go through one of these programmes, I'll never know. In fact, I'll wager that there are no 'true' musicians on the show at all. They're all on myspace, or actually gigging in places other than working mens clubs. That leaves you with the lowest common denominator, people who want fame above any artistic ambition....... Just my thoughts. I'm right though. Frazer1974 10-11-2006, 11:01 60,000 is a huge exaggeration. You couldn't fit that many people into the whole of Meadowhell, let alone the Main Hall. They'll get maybe a couple of thousand, at best. simondjuk 10-11-2006, 11:12 What a wonderful piece of news for a Friday, traffic is going to be a nightmare tonight. I work next to Meadowhell so I cant avoid it neither. DaisyBoo 10-11-2006, 12:40 do you think the traffic will have calmed down by 7sih? kittencapes 10-11-2006, 14:13 do you think the traffic will have calmed down by 7sih? Def its prob when people will all be leaving! plops 10-11-2006, 14:48 The Unconventionals will be with Louie tonight. They will be playing in the Oasis from now, there will be Interactive fun with Santa on the vidi-wall and oasis staff will be giving away prizes to people while they watch. Louie will be on the gantry in the main dome and the whole event will be broadcast live to the Oasis via TV Meadowhall and Live on Calendar news. After the switch on, Santa's showtime will have live shows on in the outside igloo. samc 10-11-2006, 14:50 Ooh that makes me very old cos I have never heard of the Unconventionals. Are they a new cute boy band? willman 10-11-2006, 14:50 traffic was murder last night 'cos of the disney thing @ the arena. imagine it will be twice as bad tonight. Devine22 10-11-2006, 14:50 I'm going tonight, i've decided. DaisyBoo 10-11-2006, 14:52 I'm going tonight, i've decided. me too, i hope the traffic will be ok by 7. i only need to go to 3 shops aswell :( plops 10-11-2006, 14:55 THe unconventionals were one of the Louis' bands in the X-Factor that got knocked out. The traffic will be mad tonight, you have more chance of seeing stuff if you watched it on the TV. Last night was pretty busy but that was because Wayne Rooney was in the centre. kittencapes 10-11-2006, 15:06 THe unconventionals were one of the Louis' bands in the X-Factor that got knocked out. I saw Sky sports running through the centre. Jillybabes 10-11-2006, 16:17 People must be mad if they are going tonight, I would rather watch it on calendar or look north, why get stuck in crowds and traffic when you can see more on your telly |
