I'm looking to do a photography course, probably at Sheffield College but would consider other colleges in the area. I've looked in 'Choices' and there are loads to choose from and as I work full time I need it to be an evening course. I just don't know what level to do as have no idea what each course involves, Choices doesn't explain them much. I don't have much experience apart from taking holiday snaps, like most people.

Has anyone on here done a photography course recently and can let me know what it covered?

Any advice appreciated...

Kathryn

Hi Kathryn,
You don`t say why you want to do the course, for fun or a qualification or both.Very difficult to make a living in this.
If you don`t understand the relationships between apertures,ISO (ASA) and shutter speeds, I suggest you start at basic levels.
I think shortly basic film cameras will be finished except for a lot of the Pros.Already in America we hear that a lot of places do not process and print film any more.
Millions of people can now buy digital cameras of excellent quality and just leave the camera to work out all the Tekkie stuff. They will get results they are delighted with, holidays, kids growing up etc. Some will obviously progress and want to learn more, most won`t bother.
So my short answer is,I don`t know.I do know you will enjoy photography ,so go for it.
Good Luck.
I am not a photographer,I am a bloke who enjoys taking photographs.
