Cos I haven't used it for over a month MSN have suspended my hotmail account & emptied it.

I'm appalled cos it's got a lot of emails on i wanted to save!

is there any way of retrieving them?

I've reactivated the account but can't find any way of finding them :( :( :(

I know of a few people who've had this happen to them, and as far as I know once they're gone they're gone.

Not sure - I have 100's of contacts on MSN, it would mean shipping them all over. :confused:

I think I'll just try & be more vigillant to be honest, and log in at least once a week. :blush:

Why not just run MSN on startup?

If you pay for Hotmail,it costs very little, nothing will be erased and it's a good service.
As your emails and contacts are so vital perhaps this would be the solution.

You don't need to change your msn login, just because you don't have that email addy anymore.

However, transferring from one msn account to another shouldn't be too difficult. Just save your contacts, and then when you start up the new msn account, just import the contacts. This can all be done from the drop down menu in the contacts tab on messenger.

I do a lot of surfing on the works shared pc mate, I don't want the nosey owd bugger I work with here seeing anything ;)

Running MSN doesn't stop the linked Hotmail account getting disabled. You have to log into the webmail for it to register any activity. I use MSN most days but the hotmail account was locked out months ago.

Mine's been fine. It must be 6-8 weeks since I last logged in, and it was fine when I logged in today after being prompted by this thread.

You can still use MSN with a suspended Hotmail account but if you go into the webmail after a set length of time, you find any emails have gone due the account getting suspended.
