We all agreed to not buy each other anything this year, so problem solved.

No. Not at all. If I time it well, I might not be here ! Yay, I'm saved. :P
Then again, I miss the shopping process though. The food shopping bit is more appreciated than the pressies.

Christmas cards, I bought it last year ! ;)
But you didn't see me write that.

yes but if you boil it down to a workers time off, and don't count Sunday, I have only 7 days at most to do it in. Now thats a scary thought.:hihi:

I gave my Dad this year's list last Sunday :D

Included are:

Xbox Live Vision Camera (Xbox 360)
2100 Gamer points (Xbox 360)
Pokemon Mystery Dungeon Blue Team (Nintendo DS)
Legend of Spyro: A new Beginning (Nintendo DS)
USB Wireless Adaptor (Nintendo DS)

All of which will be bought on GAME's web site as soon as I can find my Reward card or send off for a new one, cos I'd get loads of points on all those, the Xbox 360 camera alone is worth 350 points at £35.

Well your replies have made me feel a little better thanks:thumbsup: at least I'm not completely on my own and I do take the point of shopping when you can when you're working but.....I keep writing lists and chucking em away and starting again. I make my cards myself and I have chosen my design so perhaps I can class that as a start?
Apart from my baby great-grand-daughter, everyone has such specific ideas on what they want....say it was a pen....it wouldn't be just a pen, it would be a sky blue pink, dot dot dash /789 pen...and nothing else would do.arghhhhh.:help:
I'm struggling trying to think of something for a christening/baptism gift as it is without worrying about christmas as well. Oh poor me hey?

I am a bah humbug sort of person but I've already started my Christmas shopping.

It's practical - we've just had a pay day and there is only one more left before Christmas. If I didn't do half my Christmas shopping now I'd find myself struggling to afford it all out of one month's salary.

No wonder you hate it, Joanl. Whatever happened to buying something that you like them to have ? :)

Go on, be different this year and just get them some socks. Bet you'll love to shop for that. :hihi:

This is why I buy useful things that I know they have some already of. They don't give me a list, and it's just for the kids really.

Christening/Baptism, something like those silver items that you see in shops ? Memorable. Or... you can get tiny hands and feet prints of the child. Or... something dated with this year on it ? i.e. stamps/ coins / wine. Coins are a good one actually, something that can go up in value as the child grows older too. Bit novelty.

It depends on the couple. If they're more religious, then something more religious. If they're really modern, then handprints and things like that looks cute. If they're practical, then something like the value thing would be good.

I would just buy it and not listen to the feedback whether they like it or not. lol....

Thanks for that Bago and you are right. I think it will be gift voucher card thingies....and a little funny stocking filler. It's not just the gift I have to think about either, we are all pretty much spread out so I need to take the postage into consideration as well.
I also like the idea of a dated something for the christening...yes, that's the direction I shall go in now..
Right now, how many more days have I got????:hihi:

I've asked my mum for a Dyson vacuum cleaner and a sandwich maker. Yep, I'm moving out after Xmas. :p

I have no issue with xmas, but have an issue with it starting nearly three months before it even happens. Why do we need the xmas 'stuff' out in October. It takes the magic out of it. By the time xmas arrives, you just want it to be over.

This is what we agreed 10 years ago,and its worked ever since.Five years ago stopped buying Christmas cards, and gave the money to Sheffield Childrens Hospital instead.Only partly worked this part, as people still send me cards and dont notice that ive not sent one to them. Make a big fuss of Christmas dinner, and always trim the house up.

I've done mine too, have so many folk to buy for and very little time due to work and other commitments, also very crowd-phobic (is there a proper name for this phobia), so any meadowhall stuff is done v.early and the rest on net.

i know what i am getting everyone but not got it yet! Its my bonus this month so thats when they will all be bought..

I dont do cards and at work they are not doing cards and donating what would be spent to oxfam to provide school equipment for the kids.
