View Full Version : Help me if you were/are a student !
your_friend 08-11-2006, 11:45 Today, The teacher gave me back my Homework book and asked me to redo it ...And I know he is thinking that I can't really learn all the things well as my work only got 3 marks( of course he has asked me many questions about it and asked me to set up a time table )..but there also has one of my classmates is under the same situation with me ..but What ShoulD I do?
...I am feeling so so so confused now ! How can I get improvement?
1) Breathe in, one bad mark does not mean everything.
2) Relax, think clearly as to what steps you're gonna take.
3) What kind of homework is this ? What subject is it ?
4) You can get help from teachers, friends, or parents. Depending on what subject it is, maybe a few forummers can give you tips.
By the way, what did you mean by this sentence?

Hey, that's unfair. I just wanted the OP to clarify. Nothing to do with the OP's grammar. I asked because what has his friend's situation got to do with his situation ? They're separate issue.
Am I being the thick one, or do you have psychic abilities that I don't have ? :P
By the way, I'm only answering this thread, cos I was a student, once.
Agree with Bago here - at this time what's needed is clarity and helpful support.
Not smart-alec comments!
your_friend - if it's any consolation I often used to get crap marks in some subjects - typically maths and French. :)

I knew you were going to say that.
I wasn't referring to your post, I was looking at the original post, and just thought 'oh dear, very soon they'll all be on here questioning the punctuation and spelling etc.'

I wasn't criticising the original post Joe - I was predicting what I thought would follow from other usual suspects.
No offence intended - I'll shut up now.

I ve got better now
Well.... I think I can back to normal now, but the problem is I'm now only thinking that I have never done my best on studying, and trying to work harder and harder......
Well, sometimes you may have tried your best, and gave it all your effort. However, if you don't know what it is that you are trying to aim for, then you will get frustrated. If you don't understand the question asked, then it is always best to ask the teacher. Ask him/her to explain it fully to you.
Marks sometimes will be given like this. For example;
simple answer = 4-6 marks
extra thoughts and extra relevant information from syllabus = 7-8 marks
extra information from other soureces and books = 9-10 marks.
If you have a bad mark, don't worry. Ask in details where you went wrong. Ask the bits that you have answered to the teacher to see whether you have answered the question correctly and fully, or not.
