I think the World Student Games idea was a good one.

My wife and I spent some time there as punters watching the spectacle. I had a brand new Dynax 7000i SLR Camera and have many slides taken at the Games.

I have not yet got down to the job of copying them to the computer (family photo albums come first of course), but I will eventually get round to creating an album of the Games as we saw it.

It's a great pity that the stadia and venues were ignored by the Government of the time. Sheffield's new Sports facilities really were ignored in the scheme of National Venues, during and after the event.

But then again, Sheffield seems to have suffered from lack of publicity of it's place in the scheme of things in Britain by the BBC, Government et al for many years. What a shame!
