You've read the title, now tell me. I personally think it's one of the best films I've ever seen.

When it first came out, I thought it was the bees knees. But I don't think its stood the test of time, and I now think, its ok. A good film, but not something I have to watch if its on the telly.

Films that I'd put in this category would be;

The Blues Brothers
Shawshank Redemption
Star Wars (The original one)
Schindlers List
Forest Gump
Slap Shot

But thats just my opinion and there's probably more of which Mrs Surfin would say, "why are we watching this again....."

City of God is without doubt the best film I've ever seen. Best and favourite differ though as my favourite has to be True Romance as it's just a great movie to watch.

Wrong I'm afraid.

Shawshank is good but not worthy of the number one spot. Scarface and City of God beat it for starters.

Comedy wise, Happy Gilmore takes some beating as do Airplane and Dumb and Dumber.

Pulp Fiction is weak and infantile with poor dialogue, no character development and amateurish performances. I'm amazed that anyone over the age of thirteen is impressed by it yet it has a large following and no end of critical appraisal.

What is the greatest/worst film ever made is totally subjective. I think Pulp Fiction is a superb movie, which was genuinely groundbreaking in terms of character dialogue and chronology. I think the performances too are great.

Best film ever for my money? The Third Man by Carol Reed, or maybe Cool Hand Luke with Paul Newman.

It's good. About as good as Batteries Not Included.

I found it distinctly average. Though I have to admit I'm not a fan of Tarantino - I find his work derivative, continually rehashed and relying on fetishised violence for a shock effect. Plenty of much better stuff out there :)

Come back and ask in thirty or forty years' time. It's pointless asking if anything evenvaguely recent is the best of all time - people's memories are highly selective. That's why, every year when this is done about the Best Ever Anything, the top ten contains six new entries that were all released in the last twelve months, and the six such entries that appeared last year have all vanished again.

I'd lay odds that, in fifty years, nobody is watching Pulp Fiction. Could quite easily be wrong though.

Pulp Fiction s a great film make no mistake about it but not the greatest,

Sin City has with its gritty black and white filming and just the slash of colour the interlocking of all the stories and graphic though not gratuatus (IMO) violence bettered Pulp Fiction.

Gladiator for taking the person watching in making them feel for the characters makes for a truely great film

Oh no, you beat me to it! I was just going to say that "Pulp Fiction" is a great film indeed, but it's not the greatest. I hope it will stand the test of time (I think it will) and be up there amongst the Classics always.

The Sting is my favourite film, but almost anything with Paul Newman in it gets my vote.

Actually my real favourite film is Robin Hood, Prince of Thieves, but I haven't admitted that to myself yet, let alone anyone else...

Taxi Driver's probably the best modern classic for me.

Tarantinos films have got worse as his budgets have got bigger. Reservoir Dogs is excellent and its a sliding scale downwards from there. A case of a one trick pony being given far too much say in his movies and no-one having the guts to say "Quentin behave yourself thats crap".

Quite proud that this was the first film I took my (now) wife to see. Not a bad choice, me thinks....

Mind you our first date was Nottingham Forest v Coventry City...

In answer to the authors question: 'Yes, Pulp Fiction IS one of the greatest ever films'

Script, Stars, Acting, Story, Violence, Humour, Music, Love, Sex, Drugs, Dark . . etc... etc.... What more can you ask for in a film! 10/10!

In my opinion it's an excellent film, not as good as La Haine or the Rocky Horror Picture Show ( though that wasn't a film originally) but Pulp Fiction is definitely somewhere in my top five.
