Try Adrian Flux they insure almost anything.

Try these guys - they do classic, high performance and prestige car insurance - and they are the most competitive I have found, very professional - and not the rip off, provide insurance because you're legally required to have it but never pay out insurance company that we've all come to know and love.

I found Adrian Flux to be expensive for my Jap Import. I also found the advisor on the phone to be very abrupt with me and unfriendly.

Check out London Victoria/Frizzell, they have insured my Pajero very cheaply for the last couple of years. Tesco also do reasonable insurance.

not quite the same as a jap import, but i've actually just re-insured the cougar with norwich union, they beat privilege and adrian flux by a lot. Total cost £660 fully comp.

Cheers peeps.. If I get a good price I shall let you know.. Some specialist insurers take into consideration your current car and you save money if you have experience of something faster than an old Fiat panda so hoping it will come down a bit!

You could try these:

Ace Insurance Tel: 0800 731 7666
A-Z Insurance, based in Yorkshire Tel: 0800 1382828
Greenlight Tel:01277 263030, Fax:01277 263773
What Car Insurance 0345 413554

or these (http://www.classic-car-insurance.uk.com/japanese-jap-import.html)

or these (http://www.insurancewide.com/cms.php?tag1=OV-MT&pid=MN)

or the huge long list on this (http://www.japaneseimports.co.uk/insurance.htm) page.

You could also try Carole Nash (http://www.carolenash.com/car.shtml), my dad uses them for motorbike insurance.

Hope there's something to help in there!

Erm, they do. I'm insured through them and I have an imported Pajero!

Its the London Victoria arm that do it rather than Frizzell although they're the same company.

I shall have to ring them, the web site for both victoria and frizzell say they don't insure imports:loopy: Aplan are aslo supposed to be good, Tesco want a tracker fitted, it has a tracker but it cost £100 year to switch it on! sure I won't save that much in insurance and with a CAT 1 alarm I don't think its the most stealable car.. If it did go I doubt it would come back in one piece!

Anyway, check out this link:

I just insured my BMW Z3 left hand drive import from Spain with Direct Line.

Not a bad quote either - also had a decent quote from Adrian Flux insurance.

Liverpool Victoria don't seem too keen at the moment on performance car insurance :(
