can you tell me a little closer where castleton is as just put it in AA route finder and its 344 miles from sheffield...just a tad too far for us i think...:help:
surfinjim 05-11-2006, 01:29 Its only open on a Sunday, but the fire and police museum in Sheffield centre is well worth a visit IMO.
Castleton is great at this time of year, with the Christmas lights through the village. Plenty of nice pubs to eat at as well.
Jim:thumbsup:

Cool it ! It's about 15 miles. The Cheddar Cheese is a nice pub and buying her some Blue John is a must
What ? Are you sure Castleton is that far away ? I thought it's relatively close to Sheffield in the Peak District.
Poole's Cavern is really worth seeing. It's pretty special, I think.
I was going to suggest something similar. I've forgotten the name of it, but it's one of the biggest cave in the Yorkshire Dales area. You can only visit it when the local caving club goes down there.

Well, since you're in Hull, and she's not too far away from Sheffield. The middle point between the two destination is Doncaster. So you can maybe whisk her off to any European destinations via Robinhood airport ! :D
www.skyscanner.net
There's meant to be a Michelin star restaurant somewhere in the Peak District too.
Have a day out in Harrogate, and check out a spa place ? ;)
[Added] Oh, how about going somewhere like Stanage Edge to watch sunsets ?
Or even taking a balloon ride over certain specific area of the Peak District ?

LOL....
Er, sorry. I meant there's another cave which is one of the largest, and you need to be winched down to see the inside. Forgotten the name. Grr... Apparently, it's open to the public like once or twice a year only. It's gonna bug me now, can't think of the name.
Found it ! :D
It's Gaping Gill.

I wouldn't mind being taken there on a date. :hihi:
Highest underground unbroken waterfall in Britain.
It's pretty special.

upinwath 05-11-2006, 08:09 If you get the chance spend a day in York.
Lots to see and do. A trip up the minster tower is quite nice if you are feeling fit.
Loads of nice places to eat as well.

miniminch 05-11-2006, 18:39 Hi we fed your details and key words from your text into our specialist 'find a day out' computer program and I think you may be pleased with the results. Surprisingly cheap too. Here are the results;
Enter search: Woman, crags, special needs, day, 60 miles.
Results: We have selected flat 1006 parkhill shown here with the blue balcony (http://www.hansonphoto.co.uk/_wp_generated/wp8980d7d0.png) a weekend for two behind the spin dryer in this compact but visually exciting apartment situated in the ruins of what used to be a racist, working class stronghold but is now charmingly known as kosovotowers by the fleeing residents!
Please bring your own food and try not to bring cash. Try also to have any gold teeth removed before your trip, as these are usually used as barter by the local residents and on a number of occasions this has occurred whist still attached to the previous owners.
Thank you for your enquiry:|

The Manor featured very heavily in the "Sky Cops" programme recently - the police helicopter was constantly hovering over it trying to help PC Scothern catch wrong-doers! :)
