I'm arranging a forum meet (not this one, sorry :D ) in Sheffield, with people coming from all over the North of England and am just wondering on a good place for us all to meet.

We met at an oyster bar in Manchester back in May and that went well, so something similar here would be good. I was thinking of the Ha Ha Bar by the Peace Gardens, or the new Ruskins bar in Tudor Square.

It needs to be relatively close to the train station, can anyone else suggest alternative, or better venues.

Thanks

The Red Lion on Charles Street is relatively near to the Railway Station and is a good place to chat.

I suggest you try the bankers draft pub which is not too far from the station and is a good place to meet up.
It's where we in sheffield meet when we are down town, you can have a conversation in there as its not got loud music.

Nah, nothing to do with cars. Planning and Skyscrapers in fact, so if you see any suspicious notepads a few saturdays from now, I promise we aren't covert terrorists

Bankers is ok, was hoping for somewhere with a choice of sitting inside or out though. Want to give first-timers a good impression of Sheffield, so the peach gardens on a sunny day seems ideal!

Thanks for all your comments so far.

I'd say go with you first choices of Ha Ha or Ruskins. I'd say do not, under any cicumstances take them to the bankers. No offence to anyone who likes it but if i wanted to impress people i think thats the last place i would take them.

I like the Yorkshire Grey. It has tables outside complete with gas patio heaters!

Yup, I can second the recomendatiion. The Yorkshire Grey, The Roebuck Tavern and the Red Lion are all good pubs within spitting distance of each other.

I don't think I could recommend Bar Ha! Ha!. It's just too expensive and poncy.
