Does anyone know of any good pubs with a child friendly outdoor play area? preferably one that serves food as well, we r finding it hard to find a decent one. We live in the Norton Lees area.

shelley, you could try the Butchers Arms at Marsh Lane, if it's not too far for you. They have a fair choice of food and plenty of room outside for the kids to play.

chips and sausage
chips and nuggets
chips and fish fingers

peas or beans.

That seems to be your choice if you are a kid food wise.

If you are in Norton-Lees, you could try the Chequers Inn at coal aston. (it's just past jordanthorpe, turn left at the dronfield roundabout instead of right to dronfield; it's not too far away from where you are)

It's a 2-for-1, steakhouse type pub, and as it says , the adult menu has 2-for-1 deals, and has a whacky warehouse attached, for the kids to play in.

Me and Mr PT have been there a number of times, and we havent had a "duff" meal yet. (in fact, it's pretty much the only restaurant that Mr PT will eat in, because he knows the food is always up to scratch, and that if he asks for a "rare" steak, it comes "rare" , not "medium" or "well-done"

I'm going to call the landlord of the Stag and tell him you're a traitor. Don't they have a family room there and do food? What are you doing over at Coal Aston? ;)

Mr PT is a bit "funny" about where he'll eat, unfortunately...
