I don't know of any groups that are already set up, hopefully someone can point you in the right direction. In what area are you looking at or does it not matter?

It is something that I hope will happen with members of the group here in time  Nothing like a coffee and a chat whilst sharing craft! (so long as the craft doesn't end up wearing the coffee)

If you're interested in embroidery, the Embroiderers' Guild (http://www.embroiderersguild.com/) is what you need. They have local branches which meet regularly. I'm not sure if you have to be a member, or whether they're open to all but just run by the Guild. I suspect the former.

Anyway, here's the link (http://branches.embroiderersguild.com/branchdetails.php?id=SOYO10) to the Sheffield and District branch. It has a contact form for further information.

Good luck in finding a meeting. I do lots of embroidery too :) .

That's an idea, how about meeting up when we swap the RR's?

Have you contacted the Sheffield branch recently? Most of the local branches have workshop meetings once a month or more frequently where they meet and 'do', in addition to talks, trips to exhibitions etc.

Check back issues of 'Stitch', 'Workbox' and 'Classic Stitches'. They have events pages where details of local groups are often mentioned.

I'd also check at the library and perhaps also at the college; if their art department has an interest in textiles, the tutors are often involved with local groups. The ones at my local college certainly are.

This is from here (http://www.sheffield.gov.uk/in-your-area/libraries/find/all-libraries/crystal-peaks-library):
Stitches Circle - Thursday 2-4pm. Meet in the Artspace.
Mixed craft group including crocheting, embroidery, knitting etc. There is a waiting list for this group, please contact the library staff for more information.

This is from here (http://www.sheffieldhelpyourself.org.uk/default.htm):
