I have a great idea. I think a bus drivers' parliament should be established. It would work like this:

The employees of each bus company in the country would elect one bus driver as its member of the bus drivers parliament.

The parliament would meet on various days of the year at the Millenium Dome in Greenwhich, London. This would be an excelent venue - a large empty building capable of holding loads of people.

Although the parliament would have no legeslative powers it would be a good talking shop. Any subject could be discussd and voted upon.

Correct parliamenty procedure must be followed. For example members would be refered to as 'the Hon. Member for Stagecoach east Midlands' or ' my Right Hon. friend the member for First South Yorkshire'.

Voting blocks could be established on a company basis so drivers for large groups (Stagecoach, First, Arriva etc) could vote as a block, while drivers of independent companies would be independent members.

The whole thing sounds as though it would be a lot of fun; well more fun than something as boring as driving buses anyway.:) :D
