I was reading something on the CNN news site a few months ago and it mentioned something like this.

If the world was going to end tomorrow - would you want to know?

Followed by 2 expert opinion on the subject to why we should and shouldn't know.

Would you like to know?

Excuse me, but how do we know that the world hasn't ended? Fior all we know it might have gone 'kazoom' ages ago and what we are experiencing now is some sort of spacial-flimbistic mirage that is hovering on the edge of time itself.

I bet I'm right actually.

I'd want to know who had pressed the button and why?

Then, where to go and hide!

I don't think so...we're all still here. Perhaps it's you that have gone 'kazoom' but can't let go...so in the after-life you're imagining we're all there with you :P

Well if life was like a film we could all get beamed aboard some masive spacecraft and go to lightspeed just in the nick of time.
Unforetunatly IT'S Not so I recken not knowing would probably be best?

I don't think any of us lot have anything to worry about to be honest, the world will end at some point obviously, but I highly doubt it'll be in any of our life times or even our kids or grandkids' lifetimes.

Well if it happens then it happens. I'm not bothered either way. I'd rather it happened quickly though....like a light going out or something, rather than long and drawn out with big earthquakes n stuff.

'Click'....that's all folks.

Would be much easier.

I want to know, If aliens came down a couple years later and found a computer with this web site on then would we be starting a new religion?

I don't realy think that anyone will be pressing the button!
The most logical end of world scenario would be due to natural causes.

The Earth has been on a wobble for some years now and a polar shift will happen in the not too distant future.

Something to look forward to, I think!

At least the Earth will be cleansed and allowed a fresh start less the overpopulation.

Was just thinking actually...

Why does the "world" have to be ending for this to be relevant.. I mean, we're all selfish beings at the end of the day... the world we're going to be most worried about is our own...

So, on that note... nope.. I don't want to know... why live a countdown to the last minute... Just live each day like it's the last... Most people already know everything I'd ever want to say to them... and I've done most of what I want to do before it's too late so... life is good :)

I see your point Martin_s

I feel us humans take alot for granted... always knowing that we will see that loved one again... may that be friend lover or family... but do we always 'know' ???

Being honest no we dont... Sadly i am talking from experience.... We do tend to life for granted... but then do we all live each day as if its our last?

Now theres a thought!

Humans are the disease of this planet we should go back to being primates and just chil out each day in a tree. But then again I could'nt get it on with a chimp even if i was a chimp.

I bet I'm right actually.Or maybe the world has ended in the present, and we are subjectively experiencing the past?

At one time, when nuclear war seemed imminent, there was a government directive that in the event of a nuclear attack, we should adopt "The Nuclear Defence Position", advice was earnestly given to all to "Duck and Cover".

The more popular version of the actions to be taken during such an attack was to...

"Squat, put your head between your knees... and kiss your a$$ goodbye."

I'd like just enough warning to give me time to do that I think! ;)

I'd want to know. I'd make sure I had one hell of a good (drunk) last twenty four hours. Looting tesco for the booze, methinks.

A couple of six packs and a bottle of whiskey and I probably wouldn't notice the end of the world.

The only thing I would want to know is the time, then I would get all my family together so we could all go together!

Gee....I suppose it would depend on how it was ending (but I wouldn't necessarily know that, would I?). If it were likely to be a slow ending with suffering, I would want to know it was coming so that I could be with those that I love and be able to comfort my kids. I wouldn't want them to be afraid and without their family around them. If it was going to be quick, I wouldn't care.

Am I asking to much?
