We sure are on the way up now,I think this is what we needed one win and the confidence will return and we will show our quality.
Trouble is WHEN we get to the premier league then the job is to make sure we stay there, the board will have to gamble a little which is not something they are known for doing.
Anyway up the BLADES.

It was a good confidence booster ahed of the L**ds game. Bromby has seen the light and is now doing well for the better team in Sheffield along with Quinn, what a performance. Still unsure on Hayles, I think his time will come but it would be nice for it to be sooner than later.

A good win against Stockport will set up next sunday nicely.

A good work out against Stockport, but Ward again missing sitters & Hayles. The commentators said Ward played well but I would rather have a 30 goal a season striker who plays crap,he was brought in same as Hayles to score goals & the plain fact is they are not.Thank god we have Gray ,Lester looked sharp for his 20 minute runout hope he can stay injury free. The big match on Sunday Utd 3 v Leeds 1.I watched yorkshire tv last night & for 45 minutes it was all Leeds this Leeds that well they won't be smug when we give them a pasting on sunday. They talked to everyone bar the groundsman & made a stupid remark well Huddersfield played well against a good Leeds side what a load of rubbish Huddersfield deserved to win.UP THE BLADES

we will be lucky if we get that (attendance)

think it will only be around 28k, due to closures of some of the ground etc,

gangways G & H are still being monitored closely by the Fa so i don't think united are opening it for this game

why has the FA closed the seats?

the FA hasn't closed the seats, sheff utd have, because of all the trouble they have had last few years, but they FA will close it if problems persist, we had G&H open for reading i believe, and i do hope we open them for the leeds game (although you have to bring in proof of address and identity if you wanna purcahse a ticket in this area) but the Fa will monoitor this closely and fine where appropriate

Proud as I am over the demolition of Leeds, I have a number of complaints:

1 - We still look frail defensively. Leeds were absolutely terrible but they still caused us problems when the big lads came into the box.

2 - Nobody seems to want to have a shot. I was tearing my hair out last season over the way our players try and walk the ball into the net. Still, nice free kicks from Tonge and Harley.

3 - We're crying out for a midfield 'engine'. Until we get someone who can win the ball properly, distribute well, and really frighten the opposition, I don't think we can really count ourselves as promotion candidates.

It seems odd how Warnock always seems to sign strikers who are past their peak, yet there are loads of Man Utd and other young premiership rejects who are snapped up quickly by naff teams and still score more than us.

I'll have a dig at wednesday soon I promise.

As much as I agree with AG .That Warnock likes his strikers,he kept Allison on for another season & the guy was rubbish, also Ward he's past his sell by date,Lester is not too bad when he's not injured.Gray looks a bargain. On the radio Keith Edwards said that Ward played really well & ran his heart out, well I would rather have a lazy striker who can give us 30 goals a season.Ward should try midfield for a while he is past it as a striker, this may be a better position as he is a big lad & he could bully in midfield. As far as defence Matt Elliott is looking for a club ok he is getting on a bit ,but he is as hard as nails.Warnock say's he gets on with Alex Ferguson why doesn't he ask for some of his fringe midfielders for a year long loan Eagles & Spector look promising.

i dont like Ward one bit, but if he plays hw he did on sunday, he can stay in the team all season for me.
ward would be no good in midfield though, he is a big target man, people play off him and he holds the ball, so how he would be good in midfield i just dont know,

and agent gypo..... our defence looks stunning
your the first person ive heard that has said anything bad about it this season, the only person who does look shaky is wright, but he is a firm tackler
we have joint best defensive record in league, and we always look solid, so sorry, i don't agree at a;; with this.

midfield engine?? what about thirlwell, done cracking in the few games i have seen him in, and anything has got to be good to keep monty out

as for strikers, well to be honest, hayles is showing good form (and dont get me wrong, he is frustrating me like mad, cause out of 5 games he should have scored) but, he seems to be a player who u can play off more than a scorer, although....... when i saw him play for fulham he was not this kind of player, perhaps warnock has given him these instructions

Gray is bargain, simple
lester is good, but always injured
kabba is gonna be stunning when he comes back too (fingers crossed he dont get injured)

if we WAS to sign another striker, i think luke rogers would do mighty fine, could pick him up for about £25,000 and he just needs a mentor like warnock, GET HIM TO THE LANE

I'm trying my best not to moan, honestly I am, but where the hell was everyone for the Leeds game?

22,000??? Against our biggest rivals (sorry wednesday, you aren't really significant to us anymore). What's all that about?

Oh well, I suppose, for the first time in a long, long time, we can look down on every other team in yorkshire.

Strange that only 5 games in without a goal. Ashley Ward, although he scored against L**ds he doesn't have the best record with us so there's something more in this. Warnock says we have got £75,000 for him so some good negotiating there as he cost nothing.

L**ds didn't fill the Bramall lane end, I don't think people were willing to subject themselves to being interigated to sit in blocks G&H of Laver stand and a few seats taken away from Family stand.

We have quite a few firefighters in Sheffield at the minute so i'm sure United could have done more then give a few seats away in the Kop and the corner, could have filled blocks G&H with them.

i was not impressed by attendance figure for leeds game

there was eaisily more than 22,000

basically what united are trying to say is....... more united fans went to the reading game than against leeds, as there was easily more leeds fans than reading fans, and there was only an extra 500 on attendance against leeds

I was suprised about the attendance for sundays game but let's not forget it was 12-30 ,most are still in bed after saturday p**s up.but who cares we got 3 points & the joint best defensive record after 6 games 2 against.

Yes, the attendance figures for the Leeds game were embarrassing. If I can make the effort and come down from Southport to support the Blades, why can't those who live round the corner turn up? Never mind.

Hey come on guy's United are doing well & there's talk in the Sunday Mirror that we are after Matt Jansen from Blackburn,Preston are also interested but it looks like we have better chance because of his wages,he is on £25,000 at Blackburn which I find astonishing for a guy who is not that well known in the premiereship. But as long as he's got over his accident & can get back to how he used to play then we will have a good striker.
