I need advice cause I dunno what to do..
There is flat next door to me that has had the door open for the last 3 hours ish.. The flat is in total darkness and the door is wedged open by letters and no sign of life inside.. There are a set of keys on the side table next to the door.
The flat is up for sale but has been rented out to a family for a month by the owner, I don't think she'd appreciate this if the family in question have done a bunk and left the door wide open. There is a security door but people come in and out all the time.
Im tempted to call the police (as the site caretaker is no where to be seen) Would it be wasting Police time if I reported it ?
Advice soundly sought after..

nip in and have a look yourself, secure the door if you can and then phone police.
If you know the owner's phone number, I'd call them.
If not, I would certainly be tempted to call the police (not 999 though). I'm not sure if they'll do anything but they might be able to contact the owner to warn her what's happened.
I've peeked inside, total darkness, no one there at all.. I know the Land Lady but I dont have her number.
I was gonna call the police on the non emergeny line..
Cheers Guys

It strikes me as even more odd that we now live in a world where it's possible to see an unusual situation and then ask thousands of strangers for advice on what to do next via a little box in the corner of your living room.
Whatever you do, don't take a computer on your honeymoon! :)

This smells strongly of the work of aliens to me.
if the keys are on the side why not just lock the door.

Many years ago I worked with a guy who took his computer on a 'dirty weekend'. Nothing surprising there, you may think, until I mention that the date was 1982......
The computer concerned was a BBC Model B, two floppy disc drives, a 14" steel cased monitor and a printer. A car boot full, in other words.
I was thus exposed to the extremes of sad computer geekdom at a very early and formative stage of my career, and have never been the same since. :)
