Is it or is it the best sitcom ? Nothing ever compared to it ever since ...

I didn't find it rib-tickling laugh until my head exploded funny - I think my definition of best sitcom depends very much on what sort of mood I'm in.

One of my seriously Guilty Pleasures is 'Allo 'Allo, for example. Subtle as a brick through a window but there are times when it just hits spots that scintillating word play and knowing post-modernism can't even see. :)

I could never get on with Seinfeld.

Used to love Frasier until the last couple of series

It is not. 'Frasier' has already claimed that title. Sorry ;) .

If you like slap bass solos every 13.2 seconds then it is for you

Open all Hours for me!

I'm a big fan of Ronnie Barker. I liked Open All Hours and Porridge especially. I also love Leonard Rossiter. Rising Damp was good, but the Fall and Rise of Reginald Perrin was his best.

It's taken me 16 years to 'get' Seinfeld. But once I realised what was going on... fantastic!

I must admit, it was the rather more 'raw' delights of Curb Your Enthusiasm that pushed me along the road to comedy enlightenment on this issue.

Reggie perrin, brilliant, It takes quite alot to make me laugh,Ronnie Barker never failed to make me titter, theres so much crap about these days,Im afraid saying f**k a hunderd times in a row isnt that funny anymore(it was when I was about 12) even my kids, who are discerning comedy critics dont laught at some of the s**t thats on lately.

I didn't see all that much of Seinfeld, but what I did see looked pretty good, adult and quite dark at times, and (given that it was, I believe, hugely popular in the States) gave the lie to the theory that Americans aren't very sophisticated when it comes to comedy.

Keeping up appearances has to be the worst comedy I've ever seen, what the heck do people find to laugh at ?

Ronnie Corbett's "Sorry" was as the title implies, bobbins, total bobbins, must be a contender for worst sitcom ever.
I used to enjoy Butterflies, but I was young, probably wouldnt like it if I saw it now.

I agree although curb your enthusiasm is also very good (another larry david product)

At first Seinfeld looks like typical american trash but as you get to know the characters you realise its actually very funny

"The show about nothing"
