I believe that the problem doesn't lie with the online gambling sites, the problem exists because of the unrestricted internet. I see a day when internet access is controlled, policed and regulated by a global body. Maybe its time for a 'subscriber' internet? The meltdown of the internet I believe is in the not too distant future.
is is a subscriber internet - people have to subscribe to get on it!
I ran a gambling site for a long time - americans spend 595 billion a year on gamblng online

You can't blame gambling websites for people gambling too much on them, if people are not able to control themselves they need to seek help!

People have the ability to use a simple, two letter word.
No.
The vast majority of Internet users don't have a gambling problem, and I get sick and tired of having my life constrained because some people have problems.
I've used the Internet for over 20 years - starting when the WWW didn't exist and access was more restricted by the ability to get your computer online.
As the Internet has come to reflect the make up of society in general, it's also accumulated the same failings as society in general.
There will always be ways around a subscriber only Internet, even if it were politically and technologically possible. Human nature is the problem here - people like the idea of getting something for nothing and the Internet is just another way for them to try.
Someone with a gambling problem - be it online or offline - needs to deal with it, not demand that teh rest of the world changes because they can't get a grip on their own life.

Well put, i agree with you. Theres nothing to say you have to gamble.
They will find anyone to blame but theirselves. I remember a while ago when some people were taking Maccy D'd to court cos they got obese after eating their supersized meals. Now ive never seen a sign saying 'you must eat this supersize meal'

Not a fan of total freedom of speach then and you quite like the idea of a total nanny state and not having to think for yourself. . ??
Agree with JoeP, while-ever human choice is involved, the responsability is with that specific human that made that specific choice. . this applies to soo many things.
Violent computer games,
Gambling,
Drugs,
Pornography. .
