View Full Version : Iron maiden at arena liamcool1 01-11-2006, 12:51 I am 12 and mad on iron maiden i have tickets and am so exited what do you think of iron maiden thanks tinsel_ninja 01-11-2006, 12:59 They are absolutely amazing live. they just put on a really good act, plus if you ever listen to the live albums, they play even better than on the studio versions. I go to a lot of shows, and they rank in my all time top 5 gigs. You're gonna have a great time. liamcool1 01-11-2006, 13:01 cool thanks for that wish upon a star are trying to make a meet and greet for me F. Sidebottom 01-11-2006, 13:01 I think I was about 12 when I first went to see them - back in about 1983. Seen them a few times since, but not in recent years. I even managed to get near enough to touch Steve Harris's foot at one of their gigs. They do a fantastic live show. liamcool1 01-11-2006, 13:05 are you going because i heard that trivium are gonna be there mrsb73 01-11-2006, 13:22 I met managed to meet Bruce Dickinson once! He was doing a fencing competition at Stocksbridge Sports centre and only a handful of us knew about it (about 6 of us), he took some time out from his fencing to sign all our albums and t shirts and stuff, it was awesome at the time. I also heard Bruce is now a pilot and a couple of years ago when my mum and dad went on holiday, he was flying the plane! liamcool1 01-11-2006, 13:25 i bet that was brill are u in to his music mrsb73 01-11-2006, 13:25 Is Bruce still the singer? I know he left a long time ago, but I thought he rejoined at some point. mrsb73 01-11-2006, 13:27 i bet that was brill are u in to his music I'm 33 now, but back in the day, I was into all that stuff, and used to go to the Wapentake Bar and Rebels rock club. I like all kinds of stuff these days, but still love to listen to all my old rock albums, including Maiden and Metallica etc. Meeting Bruce when I was about 15 was like the highlight of my life at the time! mrsb73 01-11-2006, 13:29 I would have been coming to the gig, but I'll be 8 months pregnant by then, kinda spoils the jumpin about bit for ya! Sometimes I get to go in a box at the Arena, with some folks who work at DV stadium, so I might just make it you never know! Have a great time if you are going! happyhippy 01-11-2006, 13:31 Is Bruce still the singer? I know he left a long time ago, but I thought he rejoined at some point. Yeah, he rejoined. Blaze Bayley (ex-Wolfsbane) took over when Bruce went away for a couple of albums, but he could never cut the mustard really. Maiden are absolutely astonishing live, you'll love it liamcool! liamcool1 01-11-2006, 13:34 the only thing is im scared of getting coverd in wee lol mrsb73 01-11-2006, 13:36 Thank god he rejoined! Can't ever imagine Blaze Bayley replacing him at all! Don't reckon you'll get covered in wee! (hope not anyway). happyhippy 01-11-2006, 13:36 I'm 33 now, but back in the day, I was into all that stuff, and used to go to the Wapentake Bar and Rebels rock club. Ah, Reb's and the Wap, Pock Nights 1st and 3rd Monday of the month at Poxy's, the PROPER Mail Coach, and the Forester's, and the Hornblower, Sunday evenings in the beer garden in the Yorkshireman's, green dragons ......... I remember my first time in Reb's when I was 16 in 1990 like it was yesterday ........ <fx: wistfully looks out of window> Cuddly Boy 01-11-2006, 13:37 the only thing is im scared of getting coverd in wee lol some people pay good money for that kinda thing happyhippy 01-11-2006, 13:37 the only thing is im scared of getting coverd in wee lol You'll be fine mate ....... are you standing or sitting? tinsel_ninja 01-11-2006, 13:41 By the way, if you're in standing, it might be that they divide the arena floor into a front and rear section (to prevent those at the front getting crushed). If so, the front pen is often allocated on a first-come first-serve basis. So if you want to touch Steve Harris' boots (like Frank Sidebottom above) then get there early. I'm just guessing here though. liamcool1 01-11-2006, 13:43 no im in the air thanks mrsb73 01-11-2006, 13:45 Ah, Reb's and the Wap, Pock Nights 1st and 3rd Monday of the month at Poxy's, the PROPER Mail Coach, and the Forester's, and the Hornblower, Sunday evenings in the beer garden in the Yorkshireman's, green dragons ......... They sell the tickets as 'front standing' and 'rear standing' and there will be no tickets available on the day as it's sold out, except from naughty people outside ........ Front standing usually go within 4 minutes of going on sale though ........ happyhippy 01-11-2006, 13:57 Me too my dear, I was 17 in 1990, best days of my life they were!
