Is it going to be Bryan Robson to take over at Hillsborough?

I was shocked to see Sturrock sacked but this could be a move in the right direction. What do you think?

Just switched your hearing aid on have you?Try the sports sections.
I thought the idea of sacking the manager was to improve things, does Robson's record indicate this will happen?
Allen has dropped a b*****k and is struggling to find a better manager or even anyone who wants the job.
Do we need one? 7pts from 3 games will do.

Sturrock must be sick to see the players performing now that he's gone.

Maybe they wanted him out?

Please note: this post had nothing at all to do with "whatif"!
The errant swine has logged his details on my PC!!

I dunno which team you claim to support, but as a Blades fan, I want Wednesday to go UP, not down. We can't beat them if they're a division below us.

Nah, Wednesday these days look forward to pulling a big team like us in cup, if they are lucky they may do too.

Now that is the funiest thing Ive ever.... ever read on SF.
You are so much in a dream in the Premiership that reality seems to be passing you by.

I cant think of a more dull tie...

Really?

So who do you consider to be United's big rivals, the team you'd rather see us beat than anyone else? Every blade fan I know would name Wednesday, but you apparently wouldn't.

I'd rather see ua beating the chelseas and man uniteds of the world, These are actually good teams.

When we beat wednesday, whilst it is pleasing to see and nice to gloat, it has not been such an amazing achievement

I wonder if that's what Birmingham thought.

Or did they think 'arrogant little club, out of their depth, lets go and give em a spanking'.

That's why we made 11 changes to the side.
We even had short in defence, and aki up front. So make your own conclusions on whether we attempted to win the game

at the moment it would have to be leeds to be honest, every recent game against wednesday has turned out to be a fairly easy win, at least when we play leeds its a good game with good football, wednesday just can't offer us that at the moment and leeds have stolen quite a few players off us/stolen a manager from our coaching staff etc etc.

Of course- if they improve then that will change naturally but i would say that quite a few blades see leeds as bigger rivals at this moment in time.

This was supposed to be a thread on what people would think about
Bryan Robson as SWFCs manager until that mungo gumbo united supporter Joe Totale stuck his size nines in using my monicker.

( leave my monicker alone, Totale or I'll be round there and cut off your beer tokens)
Now it seems to be about who SUFCs rivals are.

Well is it going to be Robson or what?

In my opinion a move for robson would be a bad move for the owls. The bloke has in the past tried and generally failed at most of his clubs.Altho Brian Laws is at scunthorpe he will be very keen to make an impression and has got a lot of praise from prem managers including Alex Ferguson and the special one at Chelsea.Yes Robson may attract a better class of player but as he really got the ambition and heart to take the owls on and try to get them back to the prem.

I doubt whether you would be able to afford the sort of players that Robson may be able to attract to Hellsbore. To be perfectly honest, you're pretty much where we were 7 years ago, and at that time we brought in a man who had had a chequered time in the previous couple of years. He was a fan, and instilled some pride into the team, and, albeit after some time, and more faith from the board than some fans were prepared to give, we got to the Promised Land.

Finally.

I think your best move would be to do the same sort of thing, and bring in Megson. I really think he could do a good job for you.

I'm confused! Is it to be Megson now?
He is a little basic.
I can't see him attracting the type of player Wednesday need.

Dont suppose thats the main criteria is it.Paul Sturrock was or never has been nown for doing that but was in my opinion as good as were going to get.Like i said earlier, Bryan Laws is maybe just the bloke who wants to push on and show what he can do.Dave allen in his wisdom tho may bring in someone with great exp , David"kerb crawler pleat" maybe.

According to media reports, Bryan Robson has priced himself out of the managerial role at Hillsborough.

I've heard rumours that Scunthorpe have accepted compensation for Laws.

Thank God Robson has priced himself out of the job,hes a terrible manager, christ when he was at boro he needed to bring in Venables to hold his hand.He took Boro down after spending millions and he didnt work any wonders at West Brom.
Brian Laws will be given the job but personally i would have stuck with caretaker manager till chrimbo and then reviewed the situation, weve been playing really attacking football and actually scoring a few too.
7 pts out of 9 so far,if it carries on he deserves a crack at it.

I agree with you 100% regarding the caretaker manager.
Let him have his kick at the can. He must be doing something right.

How can Robson price himself out when he must knows he's a failure, just because of his past playing history.
Who does he think he is!!
Who would us SWFC fans want as manager if it was between Sean McCauley & Chris Waddle.
Waddle has shown his managerial talents (not) & McCauley has done great.
Robson, who do you think you are!, your not good enough for us!~! tw*t.
