What was happening this evening in Burngreave?

I drove through but had was redirected by police and passed by a bus splattered in paint.

there was a protest for that asylum seeker who's gone on hunger strike

protesters had blocked the road off (ie sat in the road) blocking any traffic

Fight almost kicked off involved 76 bus driver and protesters. started kicking the bus doors, paint thrown at windscreen of bus, side mirror yanked off.

Police didnt turn up till bout 30-45 min after this had happened

Its a wonder no one was injured.

I drove through Burngreave after work and just missed a protester who jumped into the middle of the road - I assume just to make sure I could read his poster!

they got really violent with the bus driver who tried to get thro'

Don't brake next time.
