Hi,

I'm starting work at the hospital in September and was wondering if anyone knew what number buses go to the Northern from Hunters Bar (Rustlings Road area) or Ecclesall Road or anywhere within walking distance from these places?

I'm not sure which buses go from those areas to the NGH, but the First Mainline buses 47,48,75, 76 and Yorkshire Terrier 72 buses all go from the city centre to the hospital.

You can catch the 47 and 48 from Pond Street, and any of the others from Arundel Gate or near the Crucible theatre.

I wouldn't recommend catching any of those buses further down by Castle Market, but that's a topic for another thread.

The number 8 goes to the Northern General and passes thro Hunters Bar every hour between 0605 and 2305 Monday to Friday with an approx journey time of 25mins and runs via Broomhill ... Upperthorpe and Shirecliffe. It serves the Norwood Road end of NGH.

not sure what line of work you are doing at the northern general, but there is a free minibus for staff which leaves every half hour to and from the royal hallamshire hospital... not sure if this gets you near home but would certainly save you a couple of quid

I'm not really sure but does the new no 20 service go anywhere near there?
