PaulTansley 27-06-2003, 16:03 A sort of Lennox Lewis in the boxing world, brought up in Canada, fights for Britain. greennigel 02-07-2003, 05:49 Slightly more British than Zola Budd! max 02-07-2003, 07:39 Typical immigrant, coming over here, taking our best jobs, etc. Just because his country used to belong to us and his mother took a day trip to Bangor. sammie 02-07-2003, 17:33 hahahah! lol!:D takumi 08-07-2003, 08:53 Originally posted by The Cycleracer A sort of Lennox Lewis in the boxing world, brought up in Canada, fights for Britain. yups! i agree... :D sammie 10-07-2003, 18:32 hehehehehhe sound!!!!!!!! amamshebab 02-07-2005, 15:56 He may not be british, but he does have a lovely chin... Andy 02-07-2005, 22:08 He's Canadian. Now if he could actually win, we might consider him to be British then :D Ally68 02-07-2005, 22:23 He obviously has dual nationality Canadian/British. Just because he hasn't got an English accent doesn't mean he's less qualified to represent Britain. I wonder how many would question it if he won wimbledon*! He chose to represent Britain, it's his right as he is half British anyway. I'd rather someone like him than a Zola "rushed citizenship" Budd. *not that that's likely! craigb 03-07-2005, 14:15 Do you see Greg Rusedski as British? Only when he wins..... so no! :hihi: muddycoffee 03-07-2005, 14:46 There are plenty of Cricketers who play[d] for England [which really means UK - to be honest] who were born or brought up abroad. Grahame Hick, Hollyoaks, Andrew Strauss, etc... I don't think there's anything wrong with it, if that is what they choose to do. They have to make the correct qualification to play and I'm sure it's true for all other sports. There is even a German born Lady Gisele Stewart ?, who is an English MP. And an Austrian Man who Used to be a film star who is the Governer of California. And has a slight chance of higher office! And in England we have a Scottish Prime Minister and Chancellor. Live and Let Live.. desy 03-07-2005, 16:48 Look for a sport we are rubbish in that particular point in time. Look for someone who is part British and the Press will make them a superstar (they've nothing else to do). Lucky_13 10-07-2005, 17:57 No - because he's canadian GHS1961 10-07-2005, 20:07 Mother English, married to an English girl. Has lived in London since he was 18, probably more British than many that represent us. brooksy 10-07-2005, 20:49 Suppose hes british, still crap tho:heyhey: ianbrownfan 18-07-2005, 15:14 Not at all. He's about as British as A Mountie. |
