My Canon scanner - about three years old a tthe most and not used much - has developed a mechanical fault. The motor continues to try to move the scanning head after it has reached the end of far end of the glass scanning bed, and makes a horrible noise!

Any suggestions of who might look at it for me? Is it likely to be economic to repair?

Cheers

I would imagine it will work out more economic to buy a new one three years is a good run for a scanner

sounds like the sensor to say it's reached the side has failed somehow, should be a cheap fix it's just finding somewhere that will do it

as NW says it will probably work out cheaper to get a new one

Unless your scanner is worth £300 bin it and get a new one. Almost all electronic equipment is cheaper to replace than repair these days!
