The brook from Holgate avenue all the way along to Barnsley road. Thats where I spent most of my childhood.
When I win the lottery Im gonna buy it, have it all fenced off and keep it for myself.
Its lovely in the summer and theres all the rats you can eat.

Anywhere deep into Greno or Wharncliffe woods. Feels like you aren't even in a City.

And close to Sheffield, Higgor Tor, it's great up there.

Your most special place in Sheffield is a pub? How would I ever have guessed?... :hihi:

Norfolk park and Weston Park are pretty special because I spent lots of happy times there as a kid. Similarly Rivelin Valley and Millhouses. I haven't visited any of them for years; I almost don't want to return for fear of wondering what's happended to them in the last ten years or so.

I'll take you up the Rivelin Valley sometime. Not much has changed and it's still one of my most regular and favourite places, together with Wyming Brook.

The Bole Hills is my favourite place. I lived in Crookes for two years as a student, but I didn't find out about it until a month before I left. One Saturday afternoon in June I sat there reading Lord of the Rings on the grass in the sunshine. As Aragorn was leading the march on the Black Gate, I had a great view across the valley towards Stannington and Malin Bridge.

Mine would have to be the top of Meersbrook Park, with the view of Sheffield. I can spend so long up there looking at the view. It is always different as well.

The General Cemetery. It's been my local park for 11 years. It's not only beautiful and varied and atmospheric, I've been working there as a volunteer for years too, so I've got to know it intimately and feel a deep connection with it.

Agreed. I've spent many an hour doing that by day and night. Tis most calming and puts it all into perspective being able to check the city and it's trees out.
