I,m writing an essay on high rise/ multi storey flats at the moment. Any one know how many there are in Sheffield and which areas they are located in, names of estates etc. If any one knows where I can research this I,d be gratefull for any info on the subject. Thanks.

How on earth is your tutor going to read an essay that's spread all over the place? Can't you just write your essay on one tower block?

There are some highrise flats in Stannington. They are called Deer Park Flats and are on the main road called Stannington Road. You cannot miss them, they are about 20storeys high and are orange!!

if it's an essay where you want to compare different high rise flats and estates, i reccomend you look at the areas of norfolk park and park hill flats and compare the regeneration of norfolk park with the architectural vision of park hill.

alternatively, for a different view of 'estates', how about writing about the estates of the future and look into new developments such as West One and Wards Brewery and the 'Young Proffessionals' phenomenom.

Thanks,
Certainly food for thought, the contrast of past and future high rise tendencies appear enormous.

An aspect I,m intersted in gathering info on at presant is the difference in areas/ high rise flats, whats happening, where and why, current trends etc.

I need a thorough understanding of past, presant and future developments for it to gel so I,ll definately be covering the points mentioned and all suggestions, sites, insights are more than welcome:thumbsup:
