View Full Version : Liverpool - InterToto glory
Guderian 23-10-2006, 09:46 I am backing Liverpool for InterToto glory next season.
With their agile defence and sharpshooting strikers, I believe they have the right tools for the job.

At last, a sensible post, well fairly.
I don't believe Liverpool will need to enter the Intertoto as they should qualify for the Uefa Cup via the Carling cup (they are the only team to take it seriously).
However, they may stumble if they happen to come up against the experienced Arsenal U13's.
Told you all pre-season - Liverpool won't finish in top 4 this season!
Guderian 23-10-2006, 10:02 I said it first!!
No way will they finish above Chelsea.
They will not finish above United.
And seeing Arsenal yesterday, they wont finish above them.
El-Mariachi 25-10-2006, 13:50 The season aint over yet ...
Le_Rosbif 25-10-2006, 15:29 Well of course not, 19 other teams still have something to play for, whereas Liverpool are already safely entering that mid-table obscurity stage. To be fair, the season will def be over with 10 games left for 'pool!

Well, we finally clicked at the weekend, and our next difficult games are after Christmas, if we can keep the performance level up, the league table will be more interesting in January.
Guderian 30-10-2006, 13:52 It will read
Chelsea
Man United
Arsenal
Pool
Thats not very interesting.
TheJudderman 05-03-2007, 19:04 Close guds - but you were right.
Bizarrely how Le_Rosbif predicted liverpool would lose to Arsenal U13's.
He wasn't far off lol

yes but they will :loopy:
And are also in a better position than any other team in the CL, and having been drawn against barca and not the mediocre teamsthe rest are playing, its not that bad a season so far........... hang on ... dont tell me ..... it was luck against barca in the first leg

you are thick arent you ?? pool are 3rd, are leading barca in the champs league etc ......... how is that mid table obscurity ???
On top of that ...... they outplayed the next champions of england and also outplayed the now, reining champs of england .....
TheJudderman 06-03-2007, 08:19 Me thinks you need to check the dates LFC

well i dont .... his prediction was, if you read, that lfc would have nothing to play for with 10 games left, was it not??

But you did comment on the mid table obscurity. It was a pre-season prediction obviously.

They can't go down, they can't win the championship - that pretty much sounds like they have nothing to play for to me.

Well if you think 3rd in prem and likely 1/4 finals of champs league is failure then thats your opinion fella

And if you think it's good enough, you need your bumps feeling.

It's not so long back that for Liverpool finishing second was considered failure......
NEKRO138 06-03-2007, 13:58 I think Liverpool finishing third would be quite an achievement for them this year. Man U are on fire this season, and for all their problems, Chelsea are still doing extremely well. I honestly couldn't see Liverpool doing anything after the start to the season they had, even though I thought their squad looked very strong for this season.
I do think Liverpool will go through tonight though and if they can get to the semis of the Champions League, I think that, along with third in the league, would be as good as any Liverpool fan could honestly have expected this season.
LFCMadPaul 06-03-2007, 14:25 And if you think it's good enough, you need your bumps feeling.
Your right .... its not good enough but its not as bad as alot predicted either

17 yrs ..........

Only a moron would have predicted we would finish below fourth this year. And if you haven't figured it out yet, that's what Le Rosbif is, unless he's had a lobotomy in the months I've been away.
It's not so long back that for Liverpool finishing second was considered failure......
It still is amongst most of us. The club doesn't exsist to compete, it exists to win, just the same as the other big club in the top four at the minute.

Ronaldinho hit a post, but Liverpool deserved to reach the quarter-final.'
