Depends on your budget and how much attention you want.

It depends on what the car is really, and what 'image' you're aiming for.

Got any pics of it's current state?

If it's a classic, you might want your thread moved to the classic car group

Also depends on what paint effect you want.

Solid, metallic, metal flake, pearlescent, chromatropic (flip colours)?

You're the one that's going to drive it at the end of the day so it's your choice.

my car is a silver fto, with a few scratches around the side and on the bonnet, the wheels & alloys need to be changed and im budgiting around £2500-3000 for the lot and a bit more if need be.

im going to iraq on the 1st of november so i have plenty time to get things sorted ( 7 months ) :(.

Well your wheels and tyres will have a major impact on your paint budget.
If you assume £1000, you'll be left with £1500-£2000, which isn't enough for flip paint anyway.
Do you want a full body-off job doing?
