I have my Dutch boss aoround next Saturday 28th October and he really wants to go out in Sheffield. He is 41 an old punk and likes rock music...anything happening in town that I might be able to take him too..Any suggestions appreciated

Take him to Dove and Rainbow bar opposite TJHughes on Friday night. Punk/rock/alternative music on for all the hours its open and its "old punk friendly" too :D

DnR Bar (where bar 101 used to be) Tuesday 31 October (Halloween) there's four punk bands playing. And it's free! And there's also a halloween fancy dress party downstairs.

He's probably heard of Roger McGuinn (influential jangly guitarist/singer from the Byrds) who is on at the City Hall (Memorial Hall so probably mainly acoustic), obviously not punk, but you also said 'rock music'.

There's also Richard Hawley at the University (Foyer) I think.

For music-oriented pubs I'd say go to the Grapes (there'll be bands on upstairs too) and the Washington.

Its the DNR bar NOT the DOVE AND RAINBOW.....Dont confuse the 2 venues, they do different things. The old Dove and Rainbow behind the Bankers Draft pub is now a rock bar.

Try The Long blondes at Sheffield Uni
or The Puppini Sisters at the Leadmill.
Sort of punk/indie but very entertaining the both of them.

If he's a punk rocker then surely the Exploited at the Plug would be the gig - followed by beers at DnR en route to Corp for some late night rock..

Flatline - a rock band - are playing at the Moorfoot Tavern, free entry. I'm playing rock before, in between and after too. I've got a few punk tracks....

EXPLOITED....top live act...see them if you can...seen them once before and not disappointed.....
