Been looking forward to this movie for year,tho i got the feeling it will turn out to be crap-tacular.

I agree with mr craig. Apparently it's only got a 12 certificate.

Go with low expectations and you'll be OK. AvP is not even in the same league as Alien, Aliens or Predator. However, it's a fun movie with bits that are not meant to be funny making you laugh.

SFX are reasonable, plot is thin, plot holes are bus-sized....but it's worth going to see for a laugh and from a nerd point of view - you finally get to see the Alien take on the Predator in shiny CG.

If you're familiar with the Dark Horse comics, you'll see some familiar themes and scenes...

Just don't go thinking you're seeing the peak of sci-fi cinema... ;)

/EDIT by the way - the film got a PG-13 rating over here. I was miffed at first...but to be honest, I didn't miss any gore and having an 'R' or '18' rating would not have improved the film in any way.

They deliberately make the film with a low certification so that they can pack the cinemas more, and it results in a blockbuster of such crap quality.

Both Alien and Predator were '18'. What was the last '18' film released?

It doesn't make sense to deliberately give it a low rating, because presumably anyone under 18 wouldn't have seen the A or P films anyway, so would have no interest in AVP.

Its a 'cool and hard' movie. Any kid would want to see it. 90% of them dont think for themselves anyway. They will want to see it cos 'Dave' went to see it and said 'your soft' if you dont.

I saw this film last night and thought it was great,, ok so the plot was a bit shaky,,, and was a bit unbelievable at times,, but it was still very good.
Got to see some serious ass kicking,,

watched it last night good special effects preditable story line.

Watched it and enjoyed it.
Proditable in place's but none the less a go see.

I cant wait, luv alien and predator-but Its bad they made it a 12, what a waste of an excellent idea.

Still I am sure it will be entertaining.

Its worth the cost of the cinema ticket just to see the
Alien vs Pred battles... absolutely class.

Thats what I wanted to hear. Angel and I are going to see it tonight so will hopefully come back with a good review....and a few scratch marks in my arm from Angel's vice-like grip. :o

Edit: Saw it last night. Like most people said, not much story but some cool effects and brill fight scenes between Alien and Predator. Left it open for a sequel with the Pred-Alien too. Just like the game eh? lol

Cool film... not scary either lol... no real story line.... but good all the same... must be an echo in here ;)
