what do you mean by 'normal' karaoke nights if you just want to sing to your hearts content knowing that the songs you want wont skip and you'll be able to hear yourself over the backing then try westways on a monday night you can sing whatever you want and the sound is good

The old crown inn on scotland street near west bar police station have started a karaoke night and i personally have been at one of them and its great. They are also doing quiz nights, and Game show nights including deal or no deal, an open deck night is soon to start also.

Hope you go and check it out.

Hi this is Tlis from the crown we were wanting a posh karoke but decided it would be alot more fun to have just a normal style karoke with cheap cocktails and lots of other offers. Are karoke nights start on the 28th of Nov and expect the first few to be quiet there will be free drinks for anyone who gets up to sing. I hope this is something you would enjoy

Should check out Rockaoke - http://www.rockaokenights.com/ Don't know when they'll be in Sheffield again but it's usually a great night out much better than singing to a backing track!

Dempseys at Moorfoot also does quite 'Normal' karaoke nights on every Wednesday and Sunday. Do bear in mind that Dempseys is a Gay venue, but all kinds of straight people also happily frequent the place, and it is easy enough to apply for a membership card there which is necessary for anyone wanting to arrive after 10pm. Dempseys also has one of the most extensive collections of songs I have seen on a karaoke anywhere, so chances are you will be able to sing all your favourites!

You mean you manage to get out alive?

The last time i went into the moorfoot although it was a couple of years ago it had really gone down hill with lots of drunks, a distinct lack of proper management and a strong smell of drugs in the place.

It was a shame as it used to be a nice place to go
