I still have a 7 inch single by Vision who were indeed a Sheffield band. I think it's called Love Dance (must go look later) but Lucifers Friend sounds very familiar too.

Love Dance was actually a hit in the charts it got to No 74 was in the chart for 1 week 9th July 1983.

But at least you seem to confirm Lucifer's Friend (which could have been B-side?)

A friend was talking about Vision not long ago, they were from Rotherham I believe. Lucifer's friend was an A-side - their debut single.

Spooky,
This very week I have been commissioned to do a cover version.

I have just recieved the details and 7" in the post this morning Saturday 14th August.

As I was opening the package I clicked on this thread.

I think I'll have to go lie down now.

Is your friend from Chorly, Manchester?

Is their anyone on this thread that is still in contact with the two writers of "Lucifers Friend"?
If so send me a PM as I would like to send them the cover I was referring to early in this topic.

I've got a signed copy of Lucifers Friend signed by Andy Beaumont!!!

The original 7" single was one of those that was cut at the end so that it never ended!!

If I remember rightly the single did really well in the local chart (was top 5) but never quite made the national top 40 was just outside.
