I run a football club that has 3 Saturday teams, and we're looking for players in all positions, for all 3 teams.
The Club is Sheffield Bankers and has been around since 1911. All the teams play on Saturday afternoons, 2 or 3pm KO. There is a 1st Team in the County Senior League, a 2nd team in the South Yorkshire Amatuer league and a new Over 35 team in the Wragg league. All the teams are aiming for promotion, but early season injuries are now stretching the squad of players that we have.
We have an immediate need for 2 goal keepers one of which is for the over 35 team.
If you interested get in touch, we train tue 7-8, open age, and Wed 8-9 (mainly for over35) player but all are welcome if times are more suitable.
All 3 teams are back in action 3pm on Sat 28th Oct.

Hi!

I have recently moved to Sheffield and am looking for a team. I am 25 and live in Meersbrook. I used to be in the Bristol Rover's Acadamy till i was 19 but haven't played much since. I usually play in the centre of midfield (but can play anywhere in midfield/defence if need be). I realise the season is already under way and that i'm not going to be match fit at the moment, but i'm sure if i train for a bit i'll pick things up quickly.
Any offers would be more then welcome but preferably from teams that train at least once a week please.

Thanks.

We' ve been blighted by injuries. Home pitches are 1st Woodbourn Road Athletics Stadium, 2nds Sheffield Transport Gound, Over 35 at Sheff Hall uni Bawtry Rd. All good pitches and facilities.
I've found in the 5 years i've been running the Club you can never have enough player, to cover injury, holidays, work commitment, and now Utd season ticket holders, though they'll tear them up fairly soon.
And as were going for promotion on 3 fronts all the teams need to be competitive

I might pop down one week to training once my injury has cleared up.
I miss Saturday afternoon playing

hey jim

I'm new to sheffield and looking for a team. I've been playing sunday and saturday footy in various places for the last 10 years and I can play anywhere in the back 4, preferably right-back. I'd be interested in coming down to training. I'm 27 but wouldnt be able to make tuesdays cos of work, so was hoping to come down wednesdays.

I can't post you a private message cos i havent been a member of this forum until now, but could you drop me an email to davidfmcdonald at gmail dot com and let me know if that's ok, where you are, etc

cheers

We've had some interest in the Club, but were still looking for those ellusive Goalkeepers, they must be and endangered species. Were also looking for those players over 35 who still want to drag themselves round the pitch for 90min.
The Club also wants to strengthen the overall 1st and 2nd team squad in all positions so if you want to get back into 11 aside football,or are new to the city then you can post a reply or send me a PM.

Mine name is Regen Mada. I play the football in Brazil when I was the young boy. I play to good a level. I study here in Sheffield and would much like to play for your team, i live in the Eccleshall area in the Sheffield.

I did went to youre training sesion last Wednesday evening at the bank ground. There is only 7 players there and they is looking very old and not very good. I think they are not your team so i left on bus back to home.

Do you no train anymoor at the bank ground, i see you have 3 teams so i was looking for a pitch with many players.

Thank you

Hi regen,
We do train on tuesday as well, the wednesday session is mainly for the over 35 team so they probably did look a bit old, though some of the younger lads also go if they can't make tuesday's. Numbers at training vary from week to week sometime 20 some weeks 10, alot of the player also play in the power leagues and alot like myself work away in the week.
I'll be up there this wednesday.

Thanking you for repliing to mine message. In mine country a team had 20 players. If youre club is having 3 teams why not are there being 60 people at training? Is the club having no ambicion to do well in youre league?

You make a fair point about the numbers but this is amatuer football and most players have full time jobs that take them out of sheffield we can't insist that player make every training session i can only make 50% of the sessions at best. Also with the large number of 5 aside leagues in Sheffield that many of the player play in so I'm happy if we get 20 out of the 60 plus we have registered. We have aslo picked up 10-15 long term injuries to many of the regular players from the last 3 years

hi i'm 17 and a fairly new goalkeeper and i was wundering if i could come along to one of your training sessions one nite and maybe join one of your teams if you are in need of a goalkeeper. My heart is fully into football and i think i am a reasonable good goalkeeper to say i haven't been coached but i have found my skills in playin football for my school n at least once every week with some of my mates.
