Should there be a Great British football team to enter in the olympics? I personally think England should be entered on behalf of Great Britain, but if a UK team was created I think we would stand a good chance of getting a medal.

Bottom line is we couldn't do that, not during the premiership season.

They could do it if they were to send amateurs and not pros like it should be. :o

there are major reasons why they don't send a representative team - and thats down to the seperate football associations. If we were to enter a team, then FIFA would want an end to England, Scotland, Welsh and Northern Ireland football associations. At the moment we get 4 votes on the international boards whereas as GB we would only get one. Will never happen for that reason alone.

That doesn't stop us entering England though. A good point about the Football season though, I didn't think of that... :loopy:

we could not enter a team, as we are "great britain" in the olympics

for football we are separate nations

if we was to enter a team in olympics we would have to emalgimate all the teams as one for the world cup etc,

anyone correct me if im wrong, but i believe that is the reason

you are correct- if we entered a team this would lead to the four separate fa's being amalgamated, and this would never happen

The clubs would never allow it. Although, with the large percentage of foreigners at top clubs it shouldn't be a problem releaseing British players who are likely to be squad numbers and on the side lines.
