Has anyone here worked in the retail industry and could give me an idea how of much profit the shops are doing on every item we buy??
E.g: On a pair of Diesel jeans sold at £130 how much will the shop have bought it for from the supplier??
Just very curious!!!

I would have thought about 50% of the price would go to the retailer. For more info on where your cash goes, click here. (http://www.sweatshopwatch.org/swatch/questions.html#list)

And 49.5% goes to the manufacturer, leaving peanuts for the slaves, sorry workers, in the Chinese factories.

You can buy a pair of jeans in Primark for £8 and they're selling them at a profit. They'll probably not cost much less to manufacture, in some Chinese or Phillipino sweatshop, than your fancy label pair.

Office equipment and stationery has a mark-up of around 26%.

I think PC World look at the prices of www.scan.co.uk and double the price.

Probably more like 35p. Other costs will include advertising, shipping etc

Diesel jeans are made in Italy.
