Hi

I'm relatively new in UK (<2 years), and am moving to Sheffield from Bath (I know a lot of you would be frowning, but sadly due to work I have to move).

I need help in finding the best places to live in or near S9 - a quiet neighbourhood in vicinity of pubs/restaurants and nightlife.

I'll probably buy a property eventually, but I'm looking to rent initially to get a feel of the city.

I did a fair bit of search but I couldnt find much information and hence resorted to posting on here.

So any suggestions, gotchas and/or pitfalls to be aware of?

Many Thanks
M

I would be inclined to be looking at the Brinsworth area, just over the Rotherham boundry.
Having been brought up in S9 I would think this has the better potential to start off and is still close to Medowhall and motorway links, M1 & M18.

Thanks Bilko! I really appreciate the feedback.

Next on the charter now is property search! :)

Brinsworth is a good area, my uncle lives there. As mentioned previously, easy access to places and lots of local amenities. Good luck in property searching.

Hmmmm... more information is required. how old are you, what are your interests, where abouts will you be working, are you single or settled, do you want to be close to the centre... do you like the leafy suberbs or a lively flat.. are you happy to comumute into work? will you be driving?? I would want to take more things into consideration, spose if renting its easy to move...
good luck :)

As this is the Sheffield Forum and is mainly for people who love Sheffield. Why would we be frowning? At least we can all pronounce Bath properly and we don't say BARRRRRRRRRth! But as I am from Sheffield I am also anoyingly friendly so WELCOME FRIEND with your rude southern ways!! The Mannors always nice at this time of year - don't you know!
