Drive along the road towards the Fox House.
Just past the Whirlow Hall turnoff, look in the lower corner of the field.
Anyone know of anymore?

It's a disguised mobile phone mast. Looks not bad in summer but stands out a mile in winter when no other trees have leaves!

Maybe it's playing hide and seek with other plastic trees!

Some are more realistic than others (http://images.google.co.uk/images?svnum=10&hl=en&lr=&safe=off&q=mobile+phone+mast+tree).

Is this for real? I've never seen one.

Or is that because it works :suspect:

Coming the other way,up on the skyline ahead as you come towards Sheephill Rd there's a clump of trees with what looks like a factory chimney sticking up. That's another mast disguised as a tree. It's on the ridge between Whirlow and Ringinglow Rd,and more obvious from the Ringinglow rd side. It sticks out like a sore thumb!

Makes me wonder if any birds build nests in them?
I allso have visions of a woodpecker breaking its beak. :)

I've looked on the database map and I'm not sure if it's the one marked, but I understand there's one inside the spire of St John's church at Ranmoor. Anyone know for certain?
(And thanks for the tip about links cgksheff I'd often wondered!)
