I'm having so many problems with these. Have been desperately trying to create a scarf using them but its looks more like a load of knots rather than a nice structured pattern!
Can anyone help? Clear instructions really welcome!!
Thanks :D

I think there must be some comparisons with knitting and 'celtic' knot-work. Solomons knot (the simplest of all celtic knots) is a knitting term also?
It is a crochet stitch (http://crochet.about.com/library/nknotstitchhowto.htm) - sorry I dont crochet though ... hope the link helps if you havent already seen it
PM Medusa, littleblue. She's a crocheter and might be able to help you.

Thank you. Did forget to mention that it was crochet! I'm so unbelievably stuck- was shown it this afternoon and it looked simple enough until I tried it...
It's one of those stitches that sometimes looks a bit dodgy until it's finished and blocked. Just try and make sure that the loops you pull up are all more or less the same length :)
There's a free video about how to do that stitch at NexStitch (http://www.nexstitch.com/v_solomons_knot.html).
