Sue

I suggest you go to the British Speedway Forum site at http://www.speedway-forum.co.uk/forums/ and post your enquiry on the Years Gone By Forum. There are several speedway historians who contribute to that site, and they may well be able to help you.

Regards, Bob

If you put the name of Clem Becket on the internet you will find some information plus someone is writing a book about him.

I am Clem Beckett's great niece and would love to know about the book that is being written about him.

My mother has memories of Clem from her childhood.

Last year Clem's old crash helmet was donated to the curator of Oldham Museum.

I can probably answer some questions about him if you want to ask.

Jane

Hi

This my second attempt as i got cut off. this is my first note as i've only just found the forum.

My dad,Sam, was in Spain with Clem who was killed in 1937 at the Battle of Jarama.

Clem rode for Belle Vue as well as Sheff

There's a thesis by Roger M Dunne at Manchester Working Class Library ( he may be the book writer)

I'm in the International Brigade Memorial Trust and could pass on requests for info

Hope this helps

next year in Feb marks the 75th Anniv of Clem's death at the battle of Jarama. I'm going out shortly and will take pics of the site at the battlefield.

By the way The Sheffioled Uni Fairground archive has some great info and photos of Clem the speedway and wall of death rider.
