If you have nothing useful to offer, don't bother commenting.

There are all sorts of viruses and things about that can cause little ones to be worryingly ill. Taking him to the children's is the best you can do for him.

Hope it all works out, Jena.

I'm afraid I'm more use with cats than children. Sounds like a trip to Children's OP is a good move.

I know how you must be feeling, I went through the same thing when my sons were little. They tend to have fits and jerks making us really worried, then in next to no time, they are fighting fit leaving us totally exhausted, Bless them.
Take care jena Im sending you both a great big HUG.

Jenna keep him cool and try soothing him. Dont let him see you panicking it can make him worse, i know it will be difficult but try to get him to relax and do deep breaths slowly. Hope he is ok.

My son has cystic fibrosis and has twice been hospitalised because he's had a bug that has left him gasping for breath. These are the tips the nurses have advised me in these situations until i can get him seen at the a&e.

That is what my son had a few years ago when he was in hospital, so it could well be, he was the same with his temperature and breathing.

well he was a baby at the time and he wouldnt drink his milk and if he did he would sick it all back, so yes i'd say it was. I'm not saying it is bronchiolitis though jena i'm not medically qualified to say, i can only advise on what i have experienced myself with my son.

Croup is a common childhood ailment.

Typically, it arises from a viral infection of the larynx (voice box) and is associated with mild upper respiratory symptoms such as a runny nose and cough.

The key symptom is a harsh barking cough.

Croup is usually not serious, and most children recover within a few days. In a small percentage of cases, a child develops breathing difficulties and may need medical attention.

Paracetamol syrup cna help with the temperature. Call your GP (family doctor) for advice if you are worried. Children's A+E is usually quite busy - you may have a wait.

It is worrying! Hope things sort themselves out.
